Review for Virginia Center for Inclusive Communities, Richmond, VA, USA
Over many decades, the Virginia Center for Inclusive Communities (VCIC) has had a significant, sustained impact on how inclusion is approached at organizations across Virginia. VCIC is sought out as a trusted partner by corporations, nonprofits, universities, and schools. It continues to take innovative approaches and to work in ways that are specifically tailored to each organization. VCIC also sponsors workshops for young people that allow students to connect with peers across the state as they learn about issues tied diversity, equity, justice, and inclusion. I am a teacher at a school in Norfolk, Virginia, and I have seen the positive outcome of VCIC workshops at our school, and I also serve on the Tidewater chapter board.
Review for Virginia Center for Inclusive Communities, Richmond, VA, USA
The Virginia Center for Inclusive Communities has helped Norfolk Academy continue to develop its varied initiatives related to diversity, equity, and justice over several years. VCIC facilitators have done workshops for the entire faculty, often at the start of a new school year, and those have spurred further independent exploration throughout the year. That was my introduction to VCIC, and I have since had the honor of serving on the Tidewater Chapter Board. I see that the reach of the organization is wide and deep, bringing positive change to corporate and nonprofit culture across Virginia. It is a trusted and respected voice!
