6 months into the 2020 COVID19 lockdown, and unemployed due to my age and increased exposure; our community newspaper featured a schedule for 50+ JOB SEEKER EXPOSITIONS. JCA offered free, virtual, seminars, led by professionals who are experts in various fields of business, who shared valuable job search resources. These Expos are important for many of us who are in career transitions and facing ageism, while the work-a-day world is going techno at wharp speed.
These Expos included ways to update and sharpen resume preparation, job seeking and interview skills; and featured at least 10 prospective employers, who had open positions.
Everything about the Expositions I attended were well-crafted to instruct, encourage, inspire and support my/our job searches —- into a brave new world, necessary for new employment, called successful “Networking.”
I also received hands on upgraded skills training through the JCA-Career Gateway Center courses.
Each aspect of the JCA’s multi-faceted service to seniors is EXCELLENT: The Core Staff, volunteer presenters, instructors, and mentors.
