In October 2019 Corazones Gatunos shelter opened its doors to rescue stray cats from the streets of Lima, Peru. Since the very beginning SPCA International has been at our side giving us economic and moral support.
Being considered by SPCA International as a shelter partner fills us with pride and gratitude.

SPCAI has been a great support for us since our beginning in 2019, and we thank them for their trust and support.
We had been able to save 1083 cats!!!!! This wouldn't have been possible without their help!!!

Corazones Gatunos is a shelter and temporary home for cats in Lima- Peru. We take cats from the streets in Lima and give them the care they need so they can be adopted. Corazones Gatunos opened in 2019, and since then, we have received the most valuable moral and economic support from SPCA International. The grants that SPCA International had awarded Corazones Gatunos had allowed us to continue with our work, giving our cats all the facilities they needed to heal physically and emotionally.
The moral support we receive with each of those grants has been of the utmost importance; they reaffirm SPCA International's confidence in our work and impulse us to continue and improve our work.
Since Corazones opened its doors in October 2019, more than one thousand cats have been taken from Lima's streets; from those, 810 have found a new home.

We founded Corazones Gatunos Temporary Home with the idea to expand our capacity of rescuing cats. We had been doing so, as foster parents, in our own homes for some years. Corazones opened its doors in October 2019 and, we began our search for help. Since we first opened our doors until today, we have given approximately 480 cats. We have also done some spay and neutering campaigns and operated about 500 cats.
As soon as we wrote to SPCA International, we received a very prompt response. This interest in us was very impressive since they have so much work all over the world!
The support we had received from them is not only financial but also moral. Our cases, worries, vicissitudes and achievements had always been SPCA International as well; that is how they make us feel. Meredith Ayan, Executive Director, is always available to cheer, console and advise us. It is an honour and a huge responsibility to be considered a Shelter Partner.
It means the whole world to us and encourages us to go on and improve in our work every day.
