I recently went on my first visit to a memory care unit with Bunny Besties. I was touched by all the residents. I got to see the joy that our therapy bunnies bring. I was particularly touched by one resident. At first she didn’t want to go near Dandelion (a therapy rabbit) but was coaxed to pet him. At first she barely touched him but after a minute or two, Dandelion’s magic took hold. She started to become alive. She began to smile wildly and her eyes almost danced. She started to hold him and she got even more animated. I could see the loneliness and isolation she felt just disappear. It was a life changing moment for both of us. I got to see the power of these little creatures change a life if even for a hour. I felt so honored to be a part of that. This is the power of the Bunny Besties community.
