back in March a neighbor found a King Pigeon sitting in her apartment complex's parking lot late at night. The bird at the time appeared not to be able to fly. The kind neighbor was able to catch the pigeon, but was unable to keep her. People on Nextdoor were telling her to release the pigeon. I told her that I would take take her instead. I had found a pigeon about 10 years ago and somehow got into contact with Palomacy. They were amazing then, and they are amazing now. Jill mentioned that they had a lot of birds at this time, and asked if I could foster her until she could find placement, which I did. I also sent some feathers in to have the bird's gender checked. When the results came back I informed Jill that Jonesy was a female. I have not really owned a pigeon before and had lots of questions. Jill always responded back to the multitude of questions that I had . She was patient, friendly, and extremely informative. I honestly thought that I would have Jonesy for months...one month later she texted me to tell me that she had a foster care for her at Ploughshare nursery. At Ploughshare I was introduced to Nath. I walked her down to the beautiful aviary, and Nath took her time explaining things and introducing me to the other birds. It was an amazing experience. Such a wonderful and caring rescue. They do an incredible job caring for these sweet little souls. I can't thank them enough, especially Jill and Nath.
