Review for Village Family Services, North Hollywood, CA, USA

Rating: 1 stars

My friends had became foster parents with this agency last year. They are welcomed to their home three siblings that turned to be very special needs. My friends are struggling being special needs parents and have sacrificed everything to take in young boys and girls who would otherwise be lost in the system. They are doing everything possible under the sky without support of the very agency that asked them to become part of the foster care support system. According to my friends, the agency pays only 700$ per child and the rest they need to cover from their own pocket.
I think this agency should be audited as to how they spend the money they receive from the government to take a good care of those needed the most.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

I know state foster parents receive special increased rates to take care of special needs children. It is fair and appropriate. I disagree to accept that the licensed parents use their own money to subsidy the treatment of the children placed in their care by the government. So, the foster agency, while still taking some share in it, has to provide their foster parents with increased rates when the children require 24/7 intensive care.
