Review for National Brussels Griffon Rescue Incorporated, Dallas, TX, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I have been associated with The National Brussels Griffon Rescue since the mid 1990’s. They are amazing. These compassionate volunteers stretch from the left coast to the right coast of the USA.
A few years ago a senior Brussels Griffon was found on a beach out east. He had such severe dental disease, it had affected his ability to shut his mouth. I still wonder to this day how he could even eat. He was turned over to NBGR. He had surgery on his jaw and ended up staying with his foster family due to his special needs with eating. The National Brussels Griffon Rescues motto is “Because each one is precious”. Well, this little guy found on the beach that day was also precious ~ his story defines who they are. It did not matter that he was a senior, he was in a desperate situation and he found his way to The National Brussels Griffon Rescue and his new life.
They have taken in other breeds, too. A Brussels Griffon and his “brother”, who happened to be a 3 -legged beagle were turned into NBGR. Yep, they had to be adopted together, it was a must!
I cannot say enough about the NBGR volunteers and Margie, who started this rescue. She worked tirelessly to make sure each one in need was cared for. We lost Margie a few years ago but her mighty band of NBGR volunteers have marched on to make sure her legacy continues. Her family said that there wasn’t a stray cat, dog, raccoon or possum that wasn’t fed if it happened to cross her path. She was a true animal lover. I would like to think I have a bit of Margie in me when it comes to my passion for all animals.
I thank you for taking the time to read about this amazing rescue!
