Review for Shakespeare & Company, Inc., Lenox, MA, USA
Shakespeare & Co. brings the highest level of theater to our area -- their productions are usually top-notch, and always worth seeing. They really know how to bring Shakespeare to life. In addition, the many additional programs (some of which are free), such as non-Shakespeare plays, lectures, and in particular their summer classes on Shakespeare for kids, are wonderful. My granddaughter, who lives in Lenox, has attended their week-long Shakespeare camp and at the age of 9 is a devoted "fan" of Shakespeare's works! She even sat through the entire production of "Richard II", completely enthralled, even though one could hardly call it a play for children! The warm, welcoming and informal atmosphere at the Shakespeare & Co. "campus" makes it a great place to picnic, and just to hang out. I've donated as much as I can afford to Shakespeare & Co. and will continue to do so.

Attending performances, and seeing my 9-year old granddaughter blossom into a true lover of Shakespeare due to her experiences in their week-long summer camp, where she performed (with other kids around her age) in a truncated but great version of "Romeo and Juliet," and the following summer in "Winter's Tale."
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
Ensure its financial future so that it wouldn't have to expend so much time and energy on fund-raising! (I can dream, can't i?)
