Review for National Brussels Griffon Rescue Incorporated, Dallas, TX, USA
I got my first Brussels Griffonin 1998 at that time I was told about National Brussels Griffon Rescue. About two years later I saw a picture of a Griff that needed a home, I called and after I was checked out with my veterinarian, two references and an inspection of my home, I was approved to adopt Jackson (formerly Grover). Six months later I was asked by Kathy with NBGRescue if I was willing to take on another rescue, I was happy to help and we adopted GiGi.
In 2006 we fostered eight griffs from a hoarding situation we helped find homes for four of them but ended up adopting the other four.
Since then we have helped with donations and have fostered about a dozen griffs.
In 2011 we agreed to foster Chrissy who was found Christmas night with a perforated cornea. Chrissy was only about a year old and NBGR paid to have her eye surgically repaired, we fostered Chrissy for months of post op treatment and three different eye drops. After many months we adopted Chrissy as we only had GiGi still with us. In 2013 we fostered nine year old Max but we fell in love with him and failed fostering and adopted him. In 2017 we lost Max to a blood disease. Several months later we adopted Kiko but due to heartworm disease he died a year later.
There are volunteers in almost every state ready to take in a foster and love them like their own then with tears help find a forever home.
I personally have done home inspections to make sure the yard is fenced, the home is safe and all residents were in agreement about adoption.
