I have been looking for a place to rehome my cockatoo. I recently lost my business and home due to covid. I have done a lot of research trying to find a good home for my bird. My bird (Gracie) has been with me for 22 years and I am having a tough time finding a place that I would feel comfortable leaving her.
Today I spoke at length with Magic on the phone. I was very impressed and took a drive down to see his operation. I wasn't disappointed! He's sitting on 5 acres set back from the road, The man's life revolves around his love for all the birds in his care. The man works 7 days a week from morning to night seeing to it that all the birds are taken care of. He has planted many bamboo plants which provide lots of shade for the birds. I saw at least 30 or 40 or more cages of various sizes and he's constantly adding more cages.
He went into one of the cages that houses aggressive birds and I watched in amazement how these so called aggressive birds flocked to him. He truly loves what he does and the birds seem to know it.
It costs a lot of money to run a sanctuary that houses the number of birds that reside in this amazing place. Magic relies on donations and funding to keep this amazing sanctuary in operation.
