Review for The Pap Corps Champions for Cancer Research, Deerfield Bch, FL, USA
The Pap Corps Champions for Cancer Research, founded in 1952, concentrates its primary focus on raising money to fund the more than 270 different research projects currently underway at the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center. Sylvester has been named one of the major cancer centers in South Florida and one of only two in Florida with NCI Designation. We are a volunteer organization that consist of 50 chapters and over 22,000 members throughout Broward, Dade and Palm Beach Counties.
This organization means the world to me and my family. Over 20 years ago my mom started the Pap Corp Chapter at Woodfield County Club. She helped raise the money to bring Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center to Deerfield Beach. Unfortunately she developed inoperable lung cancer and passed away. Woodfield continues to honor her memory with a fundraiser each year in her name “The Bobbi Friedman Memorial Card Party.”
I continue to be touched by cancer – My Father In Law passed away recently from Glioblastoma, and several friends have recently been diagnosed with breast, thyroid and uterine cancers. At one point in our lives we are all touched by cancer in some form, whether personally, a loved one, friend, relative or business associate. Our only hope for finding the cure in the future is to ensure the continuity of ongoing cancer research today!
Our vision is “to imagine and help create a world without cancer.”
