Review for Wounded Warriors Family Support, Omaha, NE, USA
In late November/maybe early December, my family and I were eating dinner when the door bell rang. My husband and I opened the door to two coolers sitting on our steps. I started running after the UPS truck to tell him he delivered something to the wrong house, surely we couldn't afford to replace what was in them! My husband read the address and it was for us! What a gift! We were so shocked. I had just been at my spinal dr's earlier that week and been told that it was time for me to take care of my back (after 14 years of alternative therapies) by means of surgery. I had asked my sister to come, although I felt terrible as she had just had baby #3 and now she was driving several states away to help my [3] kids with virtual school while I was in the hospital, meals and house keeping and everything else that entails. It was a HUGE relief that at least she would get a break for the Christmas holiday as now we had a meal that was big enough to feed us all and it was already made. Into the freezer it went and straight to the computer I ran to thank Stacia for the gift she didn't even realize WWFS had just sent us. When I told her about it she immediately offered assistance. They compensated my sister for the respite she provided and have set us up with house keeping services during my recovery. I can't even begin to explain what a gift that is. I am not allowed to bend, twist or life until I'm [hopefully!!] cleared in March by my doctor. Knowing that my house is cleaned, toilets, kitchen, floors...ALL OF IT...it leaves me school and cooking. It has really lifted such a burden during this time. We are so abundantly thankful for WWFS. I can't say "thank you" enough, though I have tried.
