Review for Operation Paws for Homes, N.Chesterfield, VA, USA
We decided it was time to add to our family & began the slow & arduous search for our newest fur baby. After falling in love with a number of online profiles, filling out countless applications & dealing with several road blocks, heart break & many, over worked volunteers who didn’t have time or patients to help yet another couple, we found OPH.
We had submitted an application with a specific dog in mind. I was devastated when I he had been adopted by a different family, before our application had been approved.
I honestly had given up & had been telling my partner, “I guess we’re not meant to have another dog.”
Then our adoption coordinator reached out to schedule the phone interview & asked us to take a look at the website, pick out a couple of profiles we might want to schedule a meet & greet with.
Arches (now Lyra) was listed as pending but I figured, I’d mention her just in case. I’m so glad we did because she turned out to be our perfect match.
I really appreciated the fact the OPH didn’t just look at us for the dog we had referenced on our application. If they had, we would have lost out on our beautiful girl who was meant to join our family.
Everyone we’ve interacted with has reminded us that the entire organization is there to help if we ever need any help of any kind. We’ve been so lucky to become a part of this amazing community!
I can’t recommend or thank everyone here at OPH, enough.
Thank you for this heartfelt review. We are so glad that your adoption coordinator was able to help you find Lyra. Welcome to the OPH family!
