Review for Almost Home Foundation, Elkgrove Village, IL, USA
Over the years our family has in total adopted 6 animals, both dogs and cats, which should sum up our love and loyalty for Almost Home Foundation. We love this rescue so much because they CARE. So many rescues adopt out so many animals without question- which I understand, they want to be able to rescue as many as possible. AHF rescues and adopts out animals by the dozens weekly, but they take the time to make sure the animal will be a good fit- which is very appreciated and shows that the rescue wants the best for each animal they rescue.
One of our cats recently passed away in December and we were absolutely devastated. This was my first big "loss". While she was sick, we made a trip to PetSmart to get her more of her food that she liked and I noticed all of the cats at the adoption show. Most were kittens, and 1 adult cat. There were so many people giving attention to the kittens, but none to this adult cat, so of course I had to. I fell in love with this cat and knew when the time was right, if he was still available, I wanted to take him home.
When I felt ready to bring home another cat, Morris was still available. We went to the adoption show and they were SO informative about him. The volunteers were very informative about all of the cats. They answered all of our questions and let us know the next steps in the process.
There were others who were interested in Morris, but we ultimately were the lucky ones to be able to take him home- which we are SO grateful for. He is such a bundle of joy. Without AHF we wouldn't have all of our babies with us. We are so appreciative of everything they have done for us, for Morris, and for all of the animals they continue to rescue. The world needs more good people like them.
