I have been a volunteer for NBGR for 16 years. My first experience with NBGR was as an adopter back in 2005 when we adopted our Otter from them. It was a great experience, and a excellent rescue to work with, and really caring people. A few years later I was approached about fostering for NBGR. I have never fostered but decided to try it. Turned out to be the best decision ever!! My first foster was a tiny ferrel Griffon named Pammie. She was a challenge but with support from the coordinators I was able to work through Pammie’s issues. I ended up adopting Pammie as she needed to stay where she was comfortable. As the years have passed my husband and I had the pleasure of many wonderful Griffs in our home. During that time I adopted 2 more sweet Griffs that I fostered.
I also help with processing the references on the adoption and foster applications. It’s a great way to meet people that share the love of the special breed. All the coordinators, and volunteers are caring and loving people who always put the needs of the Griffs first. I’m proud to be involved with this great non profit organization.
