Hello, my name is Lannie B. I was recently a participant in the services of F.I.T.
Due to the pandemic my employment was ended and I had been out of work for 5 months . I needed a different industry to find employment since my previous industry had been severely impacted by COVID-19. I heard of Foundation for an Independent Tomorrow and paid them a visit. I was warmly greeted by staff and given an informative orientation about their services for people in need of employment. I was introduced to Rita Spearman who would become my lead case manager. Rita’s compassion was palpable and her professionalism about me needing help was appreciated. Rita quickly went through my employment history and we discussed plausible transitions into new industries or perhaps an industry I had been apart of in the past. Professional Driving was an occupation that I had experience in but I had currently lacked the necessary license to re-enter the trucking world . Foundation for an Independent Tomorrow helped me get retrained and relicensed. Thanks to them I was able to transition through the lost of employment from the pandemic.
