Although I appreciate that some people have had positive experiences, I also noticed that several of the positive reviews are written by volunteers directly associated with this rescue.

After seeing several negative reviews, before proceeding with an adoption, we paid to have the contract reviewed by a lawyer. Our lawyer agreed that the $995 "donation" with the contract verbiage attached was problematic.

Please note in the images that the contract indicates that ASTR retains ownership of the dog and has the ability to reclaim your pet for any subjective reason. We politely recommended an adjustment to the wording which was met with a level of unprofessional behavior that made it clear that these are not people we would want to deal with on an ongoing basis.

Our family found a fantastic rescue organization. We have no motivation to share our story other than to warn others to proceed with caution.
