Review for Life Services Alternatives, San Jose, CA, USA
I have had the pleasure of being affiliated with LSA since August 2015, both as a donor and grandparent of a resident living at an LSA home. My granddaughter is also a participant in LSA's Community Integration day program where she has the opportunity to volunteer at several non-profit organizations, working alongside with other program participants as well as folks from other organizations. We could not be any happier with the services we are receiving from the skilled Direct Services Professionals who provide professional yet warm care for all of the residents, to the administrative staff who's dedication to providing the best services possible is evident in all they do.
Review for Life Services Alternatives, San Jose, CA, USA
My granddaughter, Amber, became a resident in LSA's Cambrian home a little over a year ago and just four months ago she joined their Community Integration Training Program. I have nothing but positive things to say about her experiences with LSA. Amber was warmly welcomed to LSA's newest house when it opened last August. We have found the staff to be warm, professional, and communicative. Amber has settled in beautifully and clearly considers the staff and other four residents to be her extended family. Their regular weekly outings include Great America, plays, museums, visits to San Francisco, and other fun places. They make up a beautiful, caring, diverse family who prepare meals, eat, play, and help out with household chores as any family does.
Between the independence Amber has gained by having her own house and the skills she is learning in the Community Integration day program we have seen Amber's self confidence skyrocket.
Kudos to an amazing organization!

Review for Abilities United, Palo Alto, CA, USA
My granddaughter was diagnosed with cerebral palsy, profound deafness and moderate to sever brain injury due to an illness as an infant. Her dad moved with her to Palo Alto when Amber was just 8 years old. She had never taken a step on her own and relied upon the use of a wheelchair and a walker to get around. When Amber stepped into the warm water at the Betty Wright Swim Center, she walked on her first for the very first time - or more appropriately, she RAN through the water unassisted. Eventually she was able to repeat that experience on land Amber is now 16 and continues to be served by the Betty Wright Swim Center as well as the After School Socialization Program at Abilities United. Abilities United has made a profound difference in our lives!
