Second visit to Tomten for myself and first for my husband. We were lucky enough to attend the 10th anniversary of Tomten, where we were able to see, in person, the true beauty of the surroundings, the beloved animals and the amazing women that care for them.
Jen is so enjoyable to listen to as she explains the love, work and attention each and every animal in their care receives every single day. The day to day care is given by the small team of all volunteer, all female board members and it's inspiring! The whiteboards with each animal and their needs, the buckets labeled with speciality diets, the room with its neatly organized medications, the immaculate barn and pastures- it's incredible.
The love for these animals that arrive, scared, malnourished and unwanted shown by each caretaker is apparent and never ending. And that love is returned to them by each animal that is lucky enough to call Tomten home. Horses, cows, chickens(and roosters), geese, donkeys, sheep, goats, pigs, bunnies, kitties,alpacas, the tiniest little mini pony and a handsome mule, they all flourish there, some experiencing love and a gentle touch, for the first time.
These women are also one of the most appreciative group of people we've met. We love that every follower and donor are acknowledged, included and sincerely thanked. The lost art of handwritten postcards to say thank you are the norm from Tomten.
If you have the chance, visit Tomten during one of their tours and you'll leave with the biggest smile on your face and your heart filled with joy after seeing these well loved animals. Guaranteed you'll be inspired to support them so they can continue to do more.

Tomten Farm and Sanctuary is my favorite rescue as they help a much forgotten population of animals that deserve peace and protection. Their continued dedication, hard work and compassion to help unwanted farm animals, makes my heart happy. To watch these beautiful creatures blossom both physically and emotionally is amazing. No matter where you live, Tomten makes sure you are virtually included in the day to day happenings with everyone on this farm. It is a privilege to support their work and I'm hoping to visit again, soon.

Tomten Farm and Sanctuary continues to amaze my husband and myself with their endless dedication to the animals that are lucky enough to call Tomten home. The all volunteer board members consist of a small group of women that step up every day to provide whatever each individual animal needs to stay healthy and happy. They continue to strive to expand the sanctuary, but only when it can be done responsibly and without putting it in financial jeopardy.

The dedicated supporters of Tomten are taken along this journey of love every day, through beautiful pictures and informative posts. So no matter where you live, you feel like you are right there watching these animals thrive. This is our favorite rescue to support!!

Tomten Farm and Sanctuary is truly an amazing place where unwanted animals are welcomed and given the love and attention they deserve. This a volunteer based sanctuary that is run by a small group of dedicated people that work tirelessly to care for these beautiful creatures. Tomten relies totally on donations received from their supporters to cover day to day expenses.

It was the highlight of my summer to visit Tomten with my family and play a small part in helping four newly rescued, scared and undernourished donkeys realize that people can be kind and that they were now, forever safe. Jen and Laima were beyond patient and informative as they explained exactly how to help the donkeys feel more comfortable. I can't wait to visit again. This sanctuary's mission is "peace, protection and possibility" and this sums it up perfectly.
