PSS has been my saving grace during my caregiver journey. I have shared it with dozen's of professionals and other caregivers.
When my 54 year old partner suffered from vascular dementia and early onset progressive Alzheimers with progressive aphasia I was overwhelmed. Unfamiliar with what to do first and what to expect next was to say the least very scary. I was reaching out to every organization and was turned away by many because of his age. I finally was referred to PSS and I was able to breathe again. I have learned so much from the extensive knowledge of the team of professionals I have been connected to and the many remarkable staff members. I have also been able to utilize the services they provide in caregiver support. The only positive thing I have encountered from the pandemic was the ability to attend so many fabulous, educational, fun and healing webinars and events from PSS. They cover EVERYTHING. Not only have I collected an abundance of resources to better understand Dementia I have expanded my knowledge and been able to share it with others who need guidance.
I have also enjoyed the many resources available for caregivers, they are fun, relaxing and very rewarding. As we all know when you are a caregiver you forget to care for yourself. I have been unable to do so without feeling like I am neglecting my care recipient.
