Review for Lamb Arts LTD-LAMB Theatre/School, Sioux City, IA, USA
So I first became involved with Lamb when Diana (elementary music teacher at the time) came into my classroom in the early 1980’s and suggested that I audition for Godspell which was being performed at the Hilton. She told me that rehearsals would not be a huge time commitment and that scenes would be staggered so that I wouldn’t have to attend rehearsals every night. Well, I took the bait - hook, line, and sinker! Rehearsals were nightly and carrying flats up the hotel escalator was hard work. But Diana’s invitation began my long standing love affair with the Lamb family. Not only did I perform often when I lived in Sioux City but when I moved to Norfolk, NE, I drove up nightly after work (150 miles round trip) for 3 months to fill my soul and to honor my commitment to the Lamb cast of Company. My devotion to Lamb has grown into a passion for our family . The first date for my husband and me was to attend Evita at Lamb. My mother, a theatre director herself, spent time rehearsing and performing on the Lamb stage; a memorial scholarship fund in her name has been established at Lamb to provide theatre opportunities for young people. My daughter, who is currently living in NYC and has a degree in theatre production and management, spent every summer at the Ewe-niversity singing and dancing her way to happiness. The Wooleys have given us as a family and Siouxland as a community an incredible gift...the awe of live theatre performed at a most professional level. We feel immensely proud and lucky to be associated in some small way with this amazing theatre company.
