When I first moved to Pittsburgh, my dog found a litter of feral kittens in the yard. I was too afraid to leave them on the property because my dog would hurt them if he got the chance, so I brought them to Humane Animal Rescue. The Admissions staff were so kind and understanding, and even though it was late in the day and they had no available fosters, one of the staff members made a plan to get these bottle-baby kittens home herself to give them care.

The people at this rescue care so much about the animals and communities they serve. I am inspired to support them every time I see their efforts to provide animals with loving care and place them into forever homes.
