While I cannot speak for the efforts of the organization itself, I would like to publicly recognize Joy Nadel for being a caring and helpful individual who helped complete strangers to save their own dog by providing advice and a connection to someone who was able to help when the veterinarians had given up on their loving dog.

On August 13th of 2020, Lucy was given 2-6 weeks to live and the hospital had offered to put her down or to allow us to take her home and keep her comfortable until it was obvious to us that she was ready to cross the Rainbow Bridge. Since we were not ready to say goodbye, we took her home in hopes of making Lucy's last days as comfortable as possible.
On that very day, Joy reached out to me via Facebook Messenger after a conversation with a mutual friend offering help. She had me forward Lucy's lab results to her and looped in her friend, Dawn Smith, who ran another rescue organization about Lucy's condition. Between the two of them, they provided holistic ideas on how to get Lucy's health back on track.

Here it is October 17th, nine weeks later and Lucy is still with us, has an appetite, is energetic and almost back to her normal self. While it is probably time to do some new lab tests to see what her overall health is, I can say that I highly doubt that Lucy would still be with us without the kindness and caring that Joy and Dawn provided us in our time of need.
