Rescue Me has a heart of gold. They rescue animals that most rescues would never even consider. We adopted our lovely Luci from them and she had so many health issues. They fixed her up, put bows in her hair and allowed us to adopt her and give her a taste of the good lap dog life. I have nothing but great things to say about Joy and Craig Nadel who run this rescue group with blood, sweat, tears and so much unconditional love for these animals. They spend so much time and effort rescuing disabled and geriatric animals that have so much life left in them. I always recommend them to our friends looking to adopt. They are non-profit. Every penny they get their hands on goes to these animals. We've build a beautiful friendship with these people and we think the world of them.
Joy went out if her way to help me help someone out of state adopt an elderly German Shepherd from a high kill Southern CA shelter. She was ready and willing to help fly him where he needed to be with a young war veteran who just lost his Shepherd Dog to old age. Charlie and Cory needed each other. It turned out another group had pledges to transport Charlie so he got to where he he needed to be, but Joy had a plan in place as well. Thank God for people like The Nadels that you can count on.
Charlie didn't die alone in a Shelter after being abandoned by his owners. He lived out the remaining 9 months if his life in a loving home and passed away peacefully in loving arms of this young man who wanted him. They fulfilled each others needs to the end. RIP Charlie. Thank you Joy!
I'm looking for a male Red Merle Australian Shepherd approximately 5 years of age who is still active and needs a running companion. He will be taken to herding lessons and agility classes. A good home with an older female Aussie awaits him. Joy if you know of such a dog or can be on the lookout please contact me. My friend is looking for the right Aussie. She has a body match in mind maybe you can find this forever home in Long Beach the right dog.
Joy and Craig are family now. I have never been treated with such respect and kindness- joy has helped me out more times than I can count. Because of her two german shepherds from a 90 year old holocaust survivor found a great home. I owe them a lot.
I have worked with this Rescue and I know how much they care about the dogs they rescue. They often take the hard to place and least adoptable dogs at the shelter. They love them like they are their own and work hard with the public to keep dogs out of shelters to begin with.
I came across this organization in 2005 via PetFinder.com when I was looking to adopt a companion. I did not adopt from them at the time due to their not being "the" one for me, but I did end-up being offered the opportunity to provide virtual volunteer assistance and have been doing so ever since. Joy and Craig have the biggest hearts and very much enjoy rescue. So much so, they support other rescues, shelters, and organizations.
I think about the great work Rescue Me does every single day when I look at the faces of two of my rescues, Bella and her brother Blu. They were part of a litter of nine puppies dumped in a river the rainy night before Thanksgiving of 2008. Nine puppies! And all of them deathly ill, yet that same day Rescue Me lived up to its name and rushed in to cover the medical costs for the litter; nursed them back to health; found them a foster home and eventually adopted them all out to loving homes. No easy feat for a small non-profit but they did it. And each year, they do it over and over again.
Have been involved with the Nadels for 12 years and have seen their dedication and caring to rescue and place animals in loving homes. From dogs and cats to pigs, goats and fish...they do it all!
Rescue Me, Inc is an amazing organization that goes out of their way to help animals in need. They take puppies needing to be bottle fed as well as seniors in need of permanent loving homes.
I met Joy and Craig several years ago when a bad breeder brought a 1 day old Pomeranian puppy in to my vets office to be euthanized. The vet called me and told me the situation and I told them not to go through with it, that I would find help for the puppy. Almost immediately I got a call from Joy saying that they would LOVE to take the puppy. Keep in mind, he had to be bottle fed every 90 minutes for several weeks, then every few hours for several weeks after that. This daunting prospect did not stop Joy for even one second. We met a couple of days later and sweet Gucci puppy has been with her ever since. I have never known a rescue to do so much for as many as Joy and Craig have. Age, medical issues, breed -- none of that matters as long as it's a good dog (or pig, goat, etc.). These 2 people have hearts of gold. They are wonderful friends, and amazing rescuers. I can only hope that I grow to be the selfless person that Joy is. She is always ready to help, in any way that she can.
Melanie, my friend, my sister in rescue...thank you honey. The day we met we became forever friends. You are the dog-mother to Gucci La' Pucci and I will forever be grateful for you to have made that long drive to bring him to me, and more-so for trusting I would love ad care for him as I did and have and will forever The every 2 hour feedings were easy breezy as he woke up when he was hungry and I fed him. He was a great pup and an even better adult boy. You will forever have a piece of my heart and forever I will love you Thank you
They Go Above AND Beyond To Rescue AND Help animals. They even helped me even though I am many miles away. I love them
Rescue Me Corporation is one of the few rescues groups that is a community in the way it helps other non-profit groups get their dogs adopted. They are also a great rescue group and extremly dedicated. They do amazing work
