Rescue Me has a heart of gold. They rescue animals that most rescues would never even consider. We adopted our lovely Luci from them and she had so many health issues. They fixed her up, put bows in her hair and allowed us to adopt her and give her a taste of the good lap dog life. I have nothing but great things to say about Joy and Craig Nadel who run this rescue group with blood, sweat, tears and so much unconditional love for these animals. They spend so much time and effort rescuing disabled and geriatric animals that have so much life left in them. I always recommend them to our friends looking to adopt. They are non-profit. Every penny they get their hands on goes to these animals. We've build a beautiful friendship with these people and we think the world of them.
Joy and Craig of Rescue Me Inc. have always been a huge part of our rescue efforts. They have made Fostering and placing pets an awesome experience. Will only adopt and foster thru Rescue Me Inc.
Words can not describe how wonderful and helpful they have been. They went above and beyond to help me when I need help the most.
Rescue Me is a wonderful organization. Not only do they service the animal community but they service Veterans as well. Such big hearts this organization has.
Craig and Joy stay true to their mission every moment of every day. They empower and educate the community in hopes of ending the cycle of violence in the lives of animals. They rescue, rehabilitate, train and re-home the animals in their care. They focus on rescuing special needs, abused and neglected dogs and truly change their lives. They have taken their passion one step further by developing programs involving those who have served in the military and special needs kids. They are the "Voice for the Voiceless".
How can you tell if somebody is truly an animal lover? You meet Joy Elyse Nadel with Rescue Me Corporation, that's how you know! I met Joy through a mutual friend when they reached out to me regarding a goat who was in danger. I am a big believer in rescuing animals, especially when they are in perilous situations; so of course, I told them to bring her to me. Meeting Joy was a breath of fresh air, she is a beautiful soul and cares deeply about animals! I wound up adopting "Tiffany the Goat" and made a lifelong friend, Joy, in the process! Rescue Me Corporation is the most caring and amazing rescue around, and they should be applauded for their work!
I have personally worked with one of the members that are on the board for Rescue Me. She helped an abused Choctaw Spanish mustang (An Oklahoma Heritage Horse) our of an abusive life in California and get him to his original home in Oklahoma where he was stolen from. During that time his well-being was put first.
I am the Co-Founder and COO of this organization and I have to tell you about my amazing wife.
25 years ago she had a dream after working in the veterinary business for a number of years and that was to make a difference in the lives of forgotten animals in the pounds.
Her focus was on the "broken" ones that didn't get looked at and were passed over due to illness , injury, abuse and more.
Thus, the birth of Rescue Me Inc.
Four years ago, I almost lost my wife and the best medicine she had was visits in the ICU from therapy dogs that came to visit.
Even while in rehab as soon as she could get too a computer she was online checking e/mails and networking, yes all from the rehab hospital.
Her dedication is endless.
Animals saved her and she will till her last breath be a voice for the voiceless.
I feel honored to be a part of this organization that continues to save the lives of animals in need.
If we can ever help an animal we WILL.
Rescue Me matched us perfectly with a new companion all via distance due to covid. They were able to match us in OK, they were in CA, and the dog needing rescue was in TX. We talked through behavior, training and personality. They matched us perfectly even with a senior dog!
The only one I have seen who actually walks the talk and does the right thing. Every cent goes to the animals. The care is from an educated intelligent place. They have never given up on an animal There are rescues here claiming to be no kill and then kill a dog for hopeless aggressive behavior and because they can save more if they give up on that abused dog. NOT Rescue ME! They do it right - always. It's why I sit on the board. I wont put my name to anything but the best.
While I cannot speak for the efforts of the organization itself, I would like to publicly recognize Joy Nadel for being a caring and helpful individual who helped complete strangers to save their own dog by providing advice and a connection to someone who was able to help when the veterinarians had given up on their loving dog.
On August 13th of 2020, Lucy was given 2-6 weeks to live and the hospital had offered to put her down or to allow us to take her home and keep her comfortable until it was obvious to us that she was ready to cross the Rainbow Bridge. Since we were not ready to say goodbye, we took her home in hopes of making Lucy's last days as comfortable as possible.
On that very day, Joy reached out to me via Facebook Messenger after a conversation with a mutual friend offering help. She had me forward Lucy's lab results to her and looped in her friend, Dawn Smith, who ran another rescue organization about Lucy's condition. Between the two of them, they provided holistic ideas on how to get Lucy's health back on track.
Here it is October 17th, nine weeks later and Lucy is still with us, has an appetite, is energetic and almost back to her normal self. While it is probably time to do some new lab tests to see what her overall health is, I can say that I highly doubt that Lucy would still be with us without the kindness and caring that Joy and Dawn provided us in our time of need.
Joy called me about a pug that needed a new home. I adopted this little darling Beauty who gave me so much happiness for 9 years. I am forever grateful for her hard work and for honoring me by letting me adopt my little girl.
I have known Joy and Craig for at least 25 years. They are wonderful, dedicated and caring people. This is true of not only their character but in how they run their Rescue! I adopted my pug thru them and she is the apple of my eye! They work tirelessly to help so many discarded, abused and uncared for animals. It is the passion of their lives and I for one am grateful for all their commitment and hard work.
Owning a dog grooming business for 28 years, you come in contact with many different animal rescues.
Joy and Craig Nadel, founders of Rescue Me Inc. are one of the best animal rescues ever.
They have been around for years. Helping to educate the public, about saving and caring for every animal they receive.
Every time I would recommend them to a client, Joy would always go out of her way to help in any way she could.
I can’t say enough good about this rescue.
This couple is involved in the community, they help veterans in need as well as the animals. They know how to network and bring the right people together to bring about solutions.
They have come to my aid anytime I have reached out to them, giving 100% effort.
I truly have been blessed knowing and receiving love and care from this incredible couple.
I have been working in the pet industry for 40 years. I met Joy over 25 years ago.
The rescue work that Joy and Craig do is so caring and compassionate.
One thing that stands out to me , is quite a few of the animals she helps are the elderly special needs animals that most people would never think to help. This act that I witness filled me with hope and awareness that I have never thought about until I saw what Joy and Craig do.
They are a team committed to the safety and well being of every animal they come in contact with.
It has been an honor knowing them and the professionalism they have devoted their lives. I wish them continued success in this sometimes heartbreaking business that Joy and Craig have overcome with such love , grace and dignity. Keep up the great work.
Joy and Craig of Rescue Me Inc. are beyond a doubt the best rescue ever!! They will go above and beyond for whomever or whatever the situation at need. Their dedication to the all animals, in particular the seniors is a testament to putting their hearts into their work. Love you both for all you do!!
Simply put- Rescue Me is one of the best rescues around
I highly recommend Rescue Me Corporation they are a top notch Animal rescue and rehabilitation organization. In a World where Animals have no Voice it makes me so happy to know that the good people that are involved with this organization are doing everything in their power to help Gods beautiful creatures, the "Animals".
As the Director of a large municipal Animal Services Dept. I had the privilege of working with Joy Nadel and Rescue Me Corp. for many years prior to my retirement. This Rescue is one of the most honest, transparent and realistic groups that I had the pleasure to work with. I highly recommend this organization to anyone.
Joy is an extremely dedicated animal rescuer—-As long as I know I’ve known her which has been many years now—She’s always one of the first people who is willing to jump in and help -no matter what! A very loving caring and authentic rescue organization ❤️
I love the heart and hands on--feet in the trenches commitment to save animals and support people who need animals more than they can realize before having a whole and healed one... Joy enables that to happen through her non-profit and her awesome work continues to inspire me and changes so many more lives than I can count. Her husband is an amazing strength in this work as well!
I was in a horrible bind, I had two German shepherds that were severely neglected but it was because an 85 year old Holocaust survivor didnt have the financial means to take care of them, she was supporting her drug addicted grandson who stole from her, etc. The dogs ears were eaten up by flies and they were in need of care. I looked up a rescue and it happened to be Rescue me Inc. Joy was amazing and she told me to come down to an event, she was so kind and so caring and she ended up finding me a loving home for the two dogs. The old woman who owned them even got to visit her beloved dogs in their new home. Rescue me Inc and Joy and Craig are a consistent lifeline for the rescue world. If any rescue needs to be recognized it is theirs. Thank you again for all you do Rescue me inc!
Rescue Me Inc. is hands down the BEST rescue ever! They will go to any and every length to save a life. Their dedication to the animals is unparalleled. I am grateful to them as they helped to pair me with my forever heart dog. Thank you Rescue Me for all you do!
Nobody has a bigger heart or a nobler mission. You can’t give your support to a better organization. ♥️♥️♥️♥️
I have had the pleasure of working side by side for a couple years at a local shelter where Rescue Me would come, volunteer and pull animals out for rescue. I’ve seen first hand being out in public how animals are treated and behind the scenes. They are professional, honest, loving and kind with hearts bigger then life. They treat these animals as their own and love and protect them every step of the way. I don’t get to see them on a regular basis as I no longer work at the shelter, however their rescue is one I donate to on a regular basis. I love Rescue Me Inc.
Joy went out if her way to help me help someone out of state adopt an elderly German Shepherd from a high kill Southern CA shelter. She was ready and willing to help fly him where he needed to be with a young war veteran who just lost his Shepherd Dog to old age. Charlie and Cory needed each other. It turned out another group had pledges to transport Charlie so he got to where he he needed to be, but Joy had a plan in place as well. Thank God for people like The Nadels that you can count on.
Charlie didn't die alone in a Shelter after being abandoned by his owners. He lived out the remaining 9 months if his life in a loving home and passed away peacefully in loving arms of this young man who wanted him. They fulfilled each others needs to the end. RIP Charlie. Thank you Joy!
I'm looking for a male Red Merle Australian Shepherd approximately 5 years of age who is still active and needs a running companion. He will be taken to herding lessons and agility classes. A good home with an older female Aussie awaits him. Joy if you know of such a dog or can be on the lookout please contact me. My friend is looking for the right Aussie. She has a body match in mind maybe you can find this forever home in Long Beach the right dog.
I have worked with this Rescue and I know how much they care about the dogs they rescue. They often take the hard to place and least adoptable dogs at the shelter. They love them like they are their own and work hard with the public to keep dogs out of shelters to begin with.
I came across this organization in 2005 via PetFinder.com when I was looking to adopt a companion. I did not adopt from them at the time due to their not being "the" one for me, but I did end-up being offered the opportunity to provide virtual volunteer assistance and have been doing so ever since. Joy and Craig have the biggest hearts and very much enjoy rescue. So much so, they support other rescues, shelters, and organizations.
I think about the great work Rescue Me does every single day when I look at the faces of two of my rescues, Bella and her brother Blu. They were part of a litter of nine puppies dumped in a river the rainy night before Thanksgiving of 2008. Nine puppies! And all of them deathly ill, yet that same day Rescue Me lived up to its name and rushed in to cover the medical costs for the litter; nursed them back to health; found them a foster home and eventually adopted them all out to loving homes. No easy feat for a small non-profit but they did it. And each year, they do it over and over again.
Have been involved with the Nadels for 12 years and have seen their dedication and caring to rescue and place animals in loving homes. From dogs and cats to pigs, goats and fish...they do it all!
Rescue Me, Inc is an amazing organization that goes out of their way to help animals in need. They take puppies needing to be bottle fed as well as seniors in need of permanent loving homes.
I met Joy and Craig several years ago when a bad breeder brought a 1 day old Pomeranian puppy in to my vets office to be euthanized. The vet called me and told me the situation and I told them not to go through with it, that I would find help for the puppy. Almost immediately I got a call from Joy saying that they would LOVE to take the puppy. Keep in mind, he had to be bottle fed every 90 minutes for several weeks, then every few hours for several weeks after that. This daunting prospect did not stop Joy for even one second. We met a couple of days later and sweet Gucci puppy has been with her ever since. I have never known a rescue to do so much for as many as Joy and Craig have. Age, medical issues, breed -- none of that matters as long as it's a good dog (or pig, goat, etc.). These 2 people have hearts of gold. They are wonderful friends, and amazing rescuers. I can only hope that I grow to be the selfless person that Joy is. She is always ready to help, in any way that she can.
Melanie, my friend, my sister in rescue...thank you honey. The day we met we became forever friends. You are the dog-mother to Gucci La' Pucci and I will forever be grateful for you to have made that long drive to bring him to me, and more-so for trusting I would love ad care for him as I did and have and will forever The every 2 hour feedings were easy breezy as he woke up when he was hungry and I fed him. He was a great pup and an even better adult boy. You will forever have a piece of my heart and forever I will love you Thank you
They Go Above AND Beyond To Rescue AND Help animals. They even helped me even though I am many miles away. I love them
Rescue Me Corporation is one of the few rescues groups that is a community in the way it helps other non-profit groups get their dogs adopted. They are also a great rescue group and extremly dedicated. They do amazing work
I had the wonderful opportunity to be at two Rescue Me events. Their events are always very fun and energetic! They have incredible passion for what they do and saving animals!!!!
This amazing group connected me with my most amazing forever cat Sammy. He is a high need Persian cat who has trouble eating on his own and was found on the streets, underweight, and in need of minor surgery.
They got Sammy everything he needed and got my son and I into visit with him before and after his surgery so we could bond with him and care for him before we were able to take him home. I will be forever grateful to this amazing rescue group.
I love rescue me inc. They found the perfect dog to become my service dog. They are very sweet and great to work with. They are always there to answer any questions and are very supportive.
I met Joy & Craig when I was helping to Toole family get justice for their beautiful puppy, KARLEY, who had been beaten to death by her(Karley) neighbor. Joy helped get the word out about Karley & with her help, we were able to get letters written, phone calls made & justice for Karley.
I've been a member of the Rescue Me, Inc board for a couple of yrs. I've watched Joy & Craig give their all to help any & ALL animals. They take in dogs that would have been put down...meaning handicapped dogs. They've helped get hundreds, if not thousands, of animals adopted at their annual ADOPT-A-THON at the Camarillo Shelter.
I could go on & on about Joy, Craig & Rescue Me, Inc. I personally know Lynne & Benjamin, the family that was scammed regarding the therapy dog. They are my neighbors. When I contacted Joy about Lynne's ordeal, she immediately said "YES, I'LL HELP THEM". She didn't skip a beat.
I'm proud to say that I know Joy & Craig & I'm proud to be on their Board.
Paula, thank you for this lovely review. We are honored to have you are part of the family and TEAM at Rescue Me Inc. You know I am always a phone call away and as a TEAM we will continue to save lives and be a voice for the voiceless.
I have known Joy and Craig for about 6 years now. They are two of the most devoted and honest people I have ever met. As an animal trainer in the studio industry as well as a private party rescuer Joy is my "go to" gal whenever I need a rescue question answered, for insight into a possible purrfect matching furbaby that someone is looking for, and even for those "oh my gosh Joy, this lady has a litter of kittens and the landlord is going to kick her out if she doesn't get rid of them TODAY! HELP! Do you know ANYONE?" situations. Their latest venture into the training of rescue dogs for returning soldiers is amazing and long overdue. Rescue Me is definitely one of the good ones!
Kari, my friend... thank you for the kind words. I will forever be here when you call. You as well are there for me when I call and that's what being a part of the RESCUE and HUMAN community is all about. THANK YOU ALWAYS MY FRIEND
I first met Joy over 10 years ago doing a home check for her for a dog she was trying to place. As a member of a rescue organization I was more then willing to help. She has always been professional and one of the most dedicated people I have ever seen to her animals and fosters. She wants to make a difference and works hard each day.
I first met Joy around 2002 when I found a stray dog that had been hurt and i was trying to find a home for. She invited me to bring her to the mobile adoptions, as well as helped me to find her a home.
It was instantly clear that she was an avid animal advocate. I ended up keeping the dog, but before that choice became clear to me, I learned a great deal about rescue, screening, and placement of dogs. I ended up volunteering for a bit with Rescue Me, Inc. It was a great experience.
I've stayed in touch with the organization for all these years, even after moving, because I believe in Joy and Rescue Me and what they stand for. I hope they achieve their goal for their sanctuary because the animals need more people like them to fight for them.
I met Joy and Craig in 2012. I was working at our local Animal Shelter. Joy and Craig organized vendors to come to the shelter, and or donate for fund raising event at the shelter. They collected the items, tagged them, and arraigned them for "The Adopt-a-thon" they care about all animals far and wide.
I haved seen this twice in the 2 years working at the shelter. Not only then, but at other times seeing about the welfare of the animals at the shelter, placing, networking the animals so they can be rescued or adopted.
Joy and Craig also got in touch at my request to help my sister who was rescuing a dog from another rescue that had red flags during the transactions trying to get the dog safe and out of harms way. Joy and Craig led my sister to the right resources so as to close down that rescue.
Also, Joy has helped me personally when my boxer was sick, what to look for questions to ask my vet at the appointment, and care for my dog.
I am in awe of them.
Thank you Joy and Craig Nadel
Thank you Cheryl. You are a true friend to the fur kids and it is ALWAYS my pleasure to help when needed. I am so glad we retained our friendship after you left the shelter. Elated your baby is better as well
Joy Nadel and Rescue Me Inc. came into our life after our family, and my son were scammed out of a service dog. The first day I met Joy, she promised to help us find my son a dog, train it and help bring awareness to our family's and the other 24 families, who were taken advantage of by a very unscrupulous service dog organization. Because of Joy's excellent reputation and connections, she was able get our story on the CBS 2 news in LA. Her amazing kindness, energy and love for animals has been a Godsend. Along with helping us search for the right dog, she vowed to help us train the dog at no cost to our family. We have now rescued an adorable black lab/mix puppy, who our son named Ember. Joy has been working with our family and Ember with her basic obedience training. We could not be happier with our experience with Joy and Rescue Me Incorporated, and look forward to our future training together!
Lynne, you, your family and especially Benjamin have been brought into our lives fr a special reason. The tears I shed the first day we met after hearing your story were real. You and I have become friends and this is a friendship that will forever last long after Ember is trained. Thank you for ALLOWING me to be a part of this special journey with Ben!!!
i met joy on facebook, she was an animal lover just like me, i see all she does and post she puts out to help gods most vonerable creatures, she is a great asset to humanity we need more like her
Lisa thank you doll. I feel blessed to have people like you in my life
I'm calling myself a client, because it the closest I can get to describing our relationship. I met Joy and Craig in 2000 when I started working at the local animal shelter. They have been one of my very favorite rescues from the first day. I always know that any pet sent out with them will get the best care, and will be placed in loving forever homes. Their tireless efforts have saved countless lives. We are very fortunate to have Rescue Me as adoption partners!
Beth, to me you are family after all these years. I feel blessed to know that you and the other ACO'S contact me when there is a fur kid in need and that you trust us to provide the love and care as we do. Our relationship goes far further then the shelter doors as you have fostered dogs for us that we have then adopted after your great fostering job and thank you for ALWAYS going the extra mile for a fur baby in need. You are a TRUE rescue angel!!!!
Rescue Me Incorporated is without a doubt a wonderful organization. No matter the situation, they never turn away an animal in need. I have known Joy and Craig for 14 yrs and trust them with my own life.
Thank you Chris. OMG how is that possible we have know one another all that time? WOW we have been through so much in that 14 years and you as well my dear friend have ALWAYS been there and NEVER turned us or a dog in need away. BLESS you for that and the lovely review
I first met Joy in September 2014. She came to my home along Benjamin, who suffers from epileptic seizures and he was in need of a service dog. They adopted the dog that we had been fostering. I was very pleased with the way Joy handled the dog. I think she is doing an amazing job training the dog and how she is helping Benjamin by providing this service for his dog! Thank you "Rescue Me Incorporated" for the great job you have done and how you continue to help both the animals and people!!
Elizabeth, thank you. You made this rescue possible by giving Ember the safe haven she needed until we found her. Rescue is a TEAM effort and we all have a huge part in this rescue and she is and has been amazing for Benjamin. Thank you for the LOVE and care you gave her!!!
I am proud to be working with Joy as she helps Hounds and Heroes create a Service Dog program for our Veterans suffering from PTSD.
