I became familiar with PCI Media nearly a decade ago through my brother-in-law who had been supporting its work, and was so impressed with what PCI Media was accomplishing, I jumped at the opportunity to join its board when invited. There are few organizations that I know of that are having as much of an impact around the world as PCI Media. And it all starts with a keen understanding of the simple yet persuasive power of a story. Combining that with a rigorous social behavior change communication methodology gives PCI Media the ability to help any community to shift attitudes and behaviors around an array of issues in the realms of health, the environment, and social justice—all to improve the quality of people’s lives. As the world faces what appears to be existential environmental threats and global health challenges, we need now more than ever the tools that PCI Media provides to help us create a new story that embraces the best of our human values and supports solutions to our most pressing problems.
