I have been with the charity since it started in 2008
I remember when I came back from Afghanistan in February 2008 and in April 2008 I was at a legion meeting where I heard a story from a gentleman who at the time all he had was a cardboard screen print of the Honor and Remember flag. After he explained what he wanted to do I walked up to him and told him that I just left Afghanistan and the last thing we saw was a flag draped coffin as we rendered honors as the motorcade passed and there it began.

I remember the very first time I met George Lutz He had done a presentation at the American Legion I was a part of in Norfolk Virginia He came in and presented what at the time was a piece of cardboard with a flag painted on it. Then he broke down the meaning of the flag. After the meeting I walked up to him and told him I just left Afghanistan at the end of February and the last thing I saw was a flag draped coffin
How can I help and since then I have been volunteering in some capacity for this non profit since day 1
