Review for FLAWDOGS ADOPTION, Morse Mill, MO, USA
We got our crazy little Luna, a stray mini poodle 9-10 months old, who had evidently been living in the forest for months with another dog. Her fur was matted 6" thick with sticks and dried leaves, telling her tale. (The dog carried acorns home for months to nibble on them.)
Sally said that the dogcatcher was taking Luna with a truckload of other unwanted dogs to be put down, but this one would NOT stand for it. She screamed for 20 minutes straight, and climbed the chain link cage to the very top, until the driver stopped and called Sally, saying that this one had too much life in her to die.
Sally found a groomer to take on this challenge, and the lady spent hours and hours just shaving the poor dog to her skin.
We had recently lost our poodle girl and our poodle boy was devastated. We brought him out to meet shaved, scabby Luna, and in 16 years with this boy dog, he I never saw him so happy. He was in LOVE. Luna came home with us thanks to Sally, and in the coming months her fur grew in, her scabs healed, and her painfully thin frame filled out--into a beautiful brown mini poodle.
I would like to thank the dog catcher, who saved her life. Today she is the most intelligent dog I have ever met, so she probably knew very well what was in store for her that day. She almost never barks, and I have never heard her scream or howl.
I would like to thank the groomer who donated hours of her expertise to save this girl from her own matted curls. She still had 98% of her skin when you were done, which is almost a miracle, considering the difficulty you faced.
Most of all, I would like to thank Sally, who accepted this wild forest dog and found help for her until she could find the right home for her to become part of.
I'm not sure what happened to you, Sally, but on the off chance you are reading this, I want to say that you're a good person.
