We lost our first daughter, Sophie, in 2002 at fullterm, after she became entangled in the umbilical cord. We had amazing support from family and friends at the time, but I was so aware of how much I needed to connect with others who also had experience with a stillbirth, and gain that specific support to help me grieve, process, and move forward. It has been my privilege to become involved with this organization and the chapter at my local level, as support is given to bereaved families in a variety of ways. At Star Legacy, the current research happening in the area of stillbirth is vital, at a time when a so much is being studied and discovered in the medical community. The Star Legacy Foundation has created ways for that information to be compiled and made more understandable to the people who it needs to reach the most. I've seen many lives be changed by this group's efforts, and I'm so grateful to be a part of that!
