My Nonprofit Reviews
Review for Compassion Without Borders, Santa Rosa, CA, USA
I adopted both of my dogs from CWOB, about a year and a half apart. The first one, Beau, was adopted after I found out that my senior dog had lymphoma and only had a few months to live. The adoption process went smoothly, even though I didn’t know whether or not I was truly ready for another dog. After my senior dog passed away, Beau had a hard time coping with being an only child but was not well mannered enough for me to get another rescue for about a year. When I applied to adopt Sully, my second rescue, the rules for adoption had changed and I suddenly lived too far away to adopt, but they made an exception for me since I had been a successful adopter in the past. Each time I visited CWOB I had a wonderful experience, even when I came to meet a dog who I didn’t end up taking home with me. Everyone was kind and understanding, and my two rescues are deeply bonded and so happy. They were both well adjusted, considering their upbringing before rescue, and are just wonderful to have around. I am so glad I came across this rescue and recommend them often. While both my dogs are still young, I can’t imagine looking elsewhere in the future.
