I've been a supporter of this org for a number of years now and will continue to support them. The org seems to be run efficiently, they get a lot of deeply needed work done and seem very committed to continuing their work. I'm also a lucky companion to two super sweet dogs that I adopted through CWOB. Anytime I learn of anyone who is looking for a dog to add to their family I always recommend that they check with CWOB to learn when their next rescue trip will take place. Thanks CWOB, keep up the wonderful work.

I was fortunate enough to work with CWB on a business matter, and I got to know the staff well. I also toured their facility and became familiar with the work they do. These folks are the real deal when it comes to animal rescue. The founders have such great passion for their mission to rescue and rehome animals on both sides of our southern border. CWB takes on the truly challenging cases that a lot of rescues might not, and they succeed in reshaping the lives of the animals in their care. I cannot say enough good things about this group.

As a volunteer in the local humane society I saw first hand the wonderful work this rescue has done. Helping the local underserved community to get veterinary care and providing a safe place for unwanted and mistreated animals to land, The pictures and stories of their many before and after rescues are very heartwarming and give one a feeling of hope.

I started fostering for this organization seven months ago. I am truly impressed with the incredible care and love they give these animals. Their adoption policy is unbelievable as a animal can be returned at any time and Compassion without Borders will take it in and find it another home. They also do excellent job matching dog to its family.

People are willing to spend several hours outside in the cold to get quality care for their pets. They provide everything to keep pet’s healthy, happy. I drive over an hour to give support to an organization that does so much for people that don’t have much but love their pets.

Compassion Without Borders transforms the lives of thousands and thousands of dogs, literally rescuing and saving dogs that are injured, suffering, hungry and homeless, and dying on the streets— to lives that are healthy, thriving, free of pain, and happy. Their work is full of human commitment, hard work, with the most committed people ever that never give up. I have watched these dogs’ lives transform, one by one, before my eyes, as I am a volunteer. These Committed people work very hard to find loving forever homes for each and every dog, fulfilling the circle of compassion.

Compassion tells a story. Not everyone can show compassion for injured, abandoned or broken animals. The fact that many dogs are in the condition they are in emphasizes this point. Compassion Without Borders take these beautiful creatures and heals them. Builds up their trust again in people and let's them become the dog they were meant to be. CWOB gives unconditionally and the reward is unconditional love back.

This is a wonderful organization. They run Clinica La Esperanza, here in Puerto Peñasco, MX. This clinic gets sick dogs and cats, off of the streets, treats them, sterilizes them and get them healthy enough for adoption to their forever families. They also sterilize and vet animals brought in by the residents of Peñasco, so these animals can live better lives. Their compassion for animals of all kinds is inspirational. It is through this clinic and with the help of one of their volunteers, that we adopted our puppy, Dinga, who is now three years of age and the joy of our lives. We will be forever grateful to this organization for all of the endless work they do, to help our community with its problem of homeless, sick and medically untreated animals.

I have been blessed with an amazing dog that was recused from the meat market in China. If not for Compassion Without Borders, my sweet boy would not be alive today. He became a little brother to our Border Collie, who missed her recently departed bubba, Wyatt. CWOB does such great work saving as many dogs in crisis they can. I am honored to support their work. By donating to them, you can see where every dollar goes, unlike most charities. We can see the results of their work on each grateful face they rescue. In my opinion, there is no better way too spend your money. The CWOB people are some of the finest humans on this planet. 5 stars is not nearly enough!!

Compassion Without Borders (CWOB) Rescues, rehabilitates and re-homes dogs (and sometimes cats or other species) from some of the most impoverished places in the Americas.

They implemented humane euthanasia for the dogs that could not be saved. They established a free spay and neuter clinic in Mexico, and treat and vaccinate hundreds of dogs a year. They set up a nursery for nursing mothers and puppies to keep them safely off the streets.

CWOB also provides low cost veterinarian care to low income residents in Sonoma. They work with partner organizations in California, and are instrumental in rescuing unwanted chihuahuas from the Central Valley and transporting them to Minneapolis, where they are in high demand because of their small size and adaptability to apartment living.

Over the years, I have fostered many of their dogs. I adopted one that I had fostered with special needs. The minute he was brought to my home, I knew he was going to stay. I had excellent support from them during his treatment

My life, as well as the animals they rescue, has been enriched by them.

I volunteer with several animal rescue groups, and I am so impressed with CWOB's commitment, caring, and compassion for both the animals and people they help. Their team goes above and beyond to help people understand how they can properly care for the animals they love, the importance of spay/neuter, and how vet care can be within reach in emergencies. All without judgement of any kind. Even as they take in strays with no homes, they help spread the message that if people see an animal in need, they can stop and get help for that animal instead of ignoring it. I adopted a lovely CWOB dog, and also foster moms and puppies, and the CWOB team has assisted with every question and concern, even organizing events so we adopters can "show off" our precious pups.

I adopted a kind of unknown medical nine month old pup from CWOB. They were great every step of the way and also supported us Emotionally and logistically through my adopted dogs diagnosis of sharpei fever, two heart conditions, and severe allergies. They were always determined to help me be able to keep Claudia in her forever home with me. A year and a half later we are still in touch and I have done afternoon fosters with my pup And CWoB dogs who are still waiting for their homes. It is an awesome organization that deeply cares about their animals and the humans who care for them. Their Covid safety protocol Has been strict and well thought out and shared with volunteers every step of the way to remain transparent. Overall a stellar group of humans rescuing very special dogs. I adopted both of my dogs from CWOB, about a year and a half apart. The first one, Beau, was adopted after I found out that my senior dog had lymphoma and only had a few months to live. The adoption process went smoothly, even though I didn’t know whether or not I was truly ready for another dog. After my senior dog passed away, Beau had a hard time coping with being an only child but was not well mannered enough for me to get another rescue for about a year. When I applied to adopt Sully, my second rescue, the rules for adoption had changed and I suddenly lived too far away to adopt, but they made an exception for me since I had been a successful adopter in the past. Each time I visited CWOB I had a wonderful experience, even when I came to meet a dog who I didn’t end up taking home with me. Everyone was kind and understanding, and my two rescues are deeply bonded and so happy. They were both well adjusted, considering their upbringing before rescue, and are just wonderful to have around. I am so glad I came across this rescue and recommend them often. While both my dogs are still young, I can’t imagine looking elsewhere in the future.

Compassion without Borders is an amazing organization with incredible empathy for animals in need. The team in Santa Rosa (in partnership with their facility in Mexico) is thoroughly mission-driven and totally dedicated to the rehabilitation, nurturing, healing, and proper forever home placement of the rescued "Meximutts" (and some Central Valley rescues, too). I've had the privilege of working with the team on some team-building and ended up adopting a sweet and beautiful 6-year old chihuahua mix named Turbo! The process (especially using pandemic safety protocols) was well-planned, well-communicated, easy, exciting, effective, and efficient. We love Turbo and he has enhanced our life immensely (as I hope we continue to enhance his!). Keep up the awesome work, CWOB!

I have followed this organization's work for several years now, donated when able and been in awe at the work they do. The work they do both sides of the border, but particularly in Mexico whereit is so badly needed is unparalleled; they have saved so many lives and helped many people keep and care for their pets. The spay and neuter is a much needed programme which will contribute to control the animal over population in Mexico. I think their education programme will make a difference in the cultural attitude towards animals, preventing the cruelty and indifference so prevalent in Mexico.

Compassion Without Borders does extraordinary and outstanding work in the field of dog rescue and rehabilitation. CWOB co-founders, Dr. Christi Camblor and her husband Moncho Camblor and their young son Diego are the heart and soul of this organization, based in Santa Rosa, California. They are totally hands on, and extremely hard working - as are the rest of the staff and a very loyal and enthusiastic band of volunteers. CWOB rescues dogs from impoverished neighborhoods across the border in Mexico, and also from the central valley of California. Every couple of months they make a journey from Santa Rosa CA to their facility in Mexico, which includes a clinic as well as special kennels for moms with pups. Here dogs that were rescued in dire condition have been brought back to good health, given a full set of shots and are then transported to the USA sometimes for further rehab and surgery, but ultimately for adoption. These dogs are extremely popular, being typically small to medium sized and very sociable and friendly, despite their ordeals. From the California Central Valley, they specialize in medical cases that local rescue agencies cannot take care of. Every dog that is brought to Santa Rosa is given the very best of care and the vast majority go on to happy forever homes. Another aspect of the work is spay/neuter and community clinics both in Mexico and under served districts of Santa Rosa, including for the pets (dogs and cats) of homeless people. Spay/neuter is especially important as it helps break the cycle of so many neglected animals. I am proud to support CWOB as a monthly donor. I feel that every one of my donation dollars does the work of two dollars elsewhere.

Absolutely the most worthy nonprofit organization in my book. I have adopted two dogs from them, and I recommend them to everyone I know that mentions wanting a dog. They scooped up my tripod Dachshund, Duncan, from a high kill shelter in Fresno. At that time, he still had his mangled, untreated, and useless front leg dangling from his body. He was a very undesirable dog and would have been euthanized had he remained there. They got him the surgery he needed, and he became a beautiful and vibrant member of our family. They rescued our terrier mix, Finnegan, from the streets of Mexico, where he was anemic and hairless from Mange. After their loving care, he became our happy, healthy, hairy bundle of fun! They make a difference in the lives of so many neglected, abused, and forgotten dogs, giving them a second chance at a happy life in forever homes. I am so grateful they exist as a positive force of kindness and compassion for these creatures with no voice of their own.

I have not adopted from CWB but I have been to their facility. I know Dr. Christy from when she was a vet a Sonoma humane society. I took in old cats and she was amazing. I won’t go into the numerous cats I took in and she took the time with every old cat like it was her own. I was heartbroken when she left but the reason she left was to do even more good than she was at the humane society? The facility they have now is amazing. The dogs they have rescued, too many to count. I would trust her with the lives of my own animals more than anyone I have ever met. There is no bounds for her compassion and love for what she does. Her whole family is involved with her efforts. All angels. The volunteers that help there are just as kind. I love what she stands for and am proud to say I know her..just a wonderful person.❤️❤️

Compassion Without Borders, IS exactly what a great rescue should be. I began an interest in this rescue at a time when I was not able to adopt. While looking at all the wonderful work they do , I saw a photo of a dog who caught my eye. I couldn't get her face out of my head and knew that she has in need of rescuing. So, even though I wasn't ready for another dog, I kept going back to her photo. There were others who also showed interest in her, but I decided she needed to be part of our family. We adopted Matilda, two years ago. I hope we have wiped out the sad memories of her days on the streets of Mexico, because she is such a blessing to us. They also travel to Mexico, hosting spay/neuter clinics which also include vaccinations, examines and just about anything a pet will need. Central California has a high shelter kill rate and Compassion Without Borders is helping with rescues there as well. Thank you for all your hard work!

As a donor and volunteer, I can't begin to express my love and admiration that I have for this grass roots (almost solely) volunteer run nonprofit. They provide essential medical care for people that are underserved, but want the best for their pets. As if the FREE clinics are not enough, they also rescue animals at high kill shelters and even travel to Mexico offering veterinary services.
Knowing several people involved with this organization, I can honesty say they are some of the kindest people I've ever met! They give countless hours to making the world a better place for both animals & people.

The care and support that CWOB gives to people's pets is incredibly appreciated by their owners. As a forever volunteer, I see how grateful these owners are to have vaccines, check- ups, spay/neuter services provided to them for no cost or a small fee. CWOB serves such a great need to the low-income undeserved communities. It's my pleasure to help these wonderful pets get a better chance at a healthy life.

This is an amazing organization, everything a frequent contributor to animal rescue organizations and other not-for-profits looks for when we think about where and how to contribute financially and in other ways to people/orgs doing great work. The organization is very focused with a clear mission of helping animals and helping people who love them but might not always have the resources and opportunities to give them the health care they need. It is creative: Who else would have thought of rescuing Chihuahuas in California, where they are commonplace and sadly often unwanted, and partnering with another rescue group in Minnesota, where they are relatively rare and people adopt and LOVE them! Its activities are well-planned, well-run and effective. The principals are extremely passionate, dedicated and competent. I wish every group I gave money used it as wisely as this one.

Compassion Without Borders fulfills a needed place among all the nonprofits that try to save dogs which have been abandoned with out hope.
It is different because it helps dogs from Mexico which have absolutely no chance to survive.
in this respect I believe it also extends a friendly helping hand across our border.
In this way it promotes friendship with our good neighbors to the South.
It does so at a time when too much negativity is aimed at the people of Mexico.

This organization is wonderful and they do wonderful work for animals on both sides of the California/Mexico border on a shoestring budget. founded by Dr. Christi Camblor and herHusband Moncho, CWOB provides rescues for dogs living under horrible conditions in Mexico and California...but doesn't stop there. they work with animal shelters to teach them how to do humane euthanasia and provide them with resources and support. In California, they rescue dogs from the Central Valley and transport them to other parts of the country where they can find homes, But best of all, they offer low to no cost vet clinics for under-served populations including the large Latino population of Sonoma County,,,these clinics are often the first time that some animals have ever seen a vet....low to no-cost services, education about caring for their pets, and compassion from a Spanish speaking vet...a wonderful combination

I support CWOB monthly with a small donation. If I could give them $100 a month, or more, I would! They are the epitome of a well-run, grass roots organization. The work they do for animals also does a lot for people, not just locally, but also in Mexico. Just the work they do to help implement humane euthansia at shelters in Mexico justifies the high rating I give them. The methods used in Mexico are awful, and I'm sure they are awful for the humans as well. I love that CWB has clinics locally for low-income communities. This reduces the numbers of dogs that will end up as strays or surrendered to shelters. A person who loves their animal, but cannot afford care, must be so relieved and happy to get help from CWB to keep their animal healthy. It surely means the world to them and that is seen by the long lines of people and animals waiting to be seen at their FREE clinics. I can't say enough about CWB, every email I get from them is POSITIVE. It's not necessary to horrify people to get them to donate. I love donating to CWB because I see the positive outcomes. I'm sure there are animals they cannot help, and have to leave behind, but they process that pain and keep on going! Another wonderful thing they do, here in California, is take dogs from high-kill shelters and transfer them to shelters where they will get adopted - even flying them to out-of-state shelters! I think CWB is pretty much the #1 small, grass-roots, non-profit I could possibly support. I hope someday, when I can have my own dog, I'll be able to adopt a Meximutt from CWB. I just love what they do so much!

Compassion without Borders is like David and Goliath. They may be small but they are making an impact in our local community. They reach out to those underserved populations and offering immunizations, education, spay and neuter and more. CWOB also has partnered with a shelter in the Central Valley of California, rescuing many dogs that are on the euthanasia list. Those dogs are then flown to Minnesota where they are eagerly adopted. CWOB does not limit its impact just on California but also rescues dogs from Mexico that have never known the love and care of a family. These dogs are fondly called Meximutts. The Sonoma Humane Society then partners with CWOB to get all these pooches adopted.

From promoting education about wellness, training equipment (such as a sensation harness compared to prong collars, etc.), & spay/neuter importance, to traveling to Central Valley to rescue Chihuahuas, to traveling to Mexico to educate and save animals, to holding free spay/neuter & wellness clinics locally, CWOB is working to keep companion animals out of the shelters and into loving homes. They are really making a difference, one animal and one person at a time. They naturally know how to reach people and help them to help animals, because they are truly genuinely good human beings. I have been a supporter of Christi's for many years and plan on many more. The main reason why is that they don't put bandaids on a problem, but get to the root cause and work to correct the underlying issue to bring lasting change. They have a focus on education and changing attitudes in underserved communities, have vision, and evolve to meet the needs of these communities. Their rescue work continues to save countless animals from untold suffering and give them a chance at a new life. They see many horrific situations in their work, but continue to forge on with hope and a smile and an eye on how they can affect necessary change.

I recently adopted a dog brought up to Minnesota by compassion without borders. Desperado(previously Brian) has quickly become the center of my life and I cannot thank compassion without Borders enough. He was transported halfway across the country, and I stumbled upon him at a shelter here. Knowing nothing about his background, I brought him home and I can't imagine having any other dog. Within a few daysof desi's adoption, someone with compassion without borders called me to check on desi and ask how he was doing so she could tell the vet who knew him back in CA. I got an email that night with a bit more information about his background, and ttis has all made me incredibly thankful to the organization for the help they gave Desi and how personable their contact with me was.

I adopted my little pup, Rosie, from the Marin Humane Society in Novato. I was told she was brought to the states by Compassion without Borders. She is a wonderful dog for me… maybe Havanese/Maltese/Poodle mix…. adorable. I love her so much and she loves me. She sleeps next to me at night and wakes me up at exactly 7:30 AM each morning by nuzzling into my neck for a belly rub. She only barks when someone comes to the door, which I like a lot since I am a widow and live alone. I house broke her in less than a week…. and she loves to eat cooked chicken along with her kibbles. I feel so fortunate to have Rosie at this stage in my life… I couldn't ask for a more perfect dog.

They are helping people help their sweet animals. They are reaching out to low income, and under served parts of the community. So many animals have been saved from horrible lives or immediate deaths. They transport animals to other parts of the country where they will be appreciated and loved. They are keeping people safe from unvaccinated animals and helping with population control. I hope they can continue this amazing journey because we need animals for companionship but not everyone can afford their care. They are educating us on behalf of those without human words.

I worked with the doctors and nurses at a spay and neuter clinic in Puerto Penasco, Mexico where we helped 92 cats and dogs. They were very professional, friendly and spent time with the families that were concerned for their pets. They even helped a sea gull with a wing problem that someone brought in! They did this on only a few hours sleep after a clinic in a another town took longer than expected and they drove all through the night to get to us. It was a long, hot and dirty day, but they helped so many people that otherwise wouldn't of been able to have these procedures done for their pets!! They are the best!! Did I mention they also have a great sense of humor!

CWOB has done so much good through hard work persistence, creativity, and most of all compassion. They have improved the lives of dogs in Mexico and the US. The work they do really creates change. Through spay/neuter programs and humane education and free veterinary clinics and rescues, they make life better for pets and their owners/guardians. I love their motto 'Rescue. Rehome. Repeat.'

I found Christi and Compassion Without Borders at the Bay Area Pet Fair and Adoptathon several years ago. I was so impressed by their mission and their ability to accomplish it with a 100 percent volunteer run organization. Every penny donated goes directly to help the animals. I became a supporter and a mouthpiece for them immediately and then recently started volunteering at vaccination clinics and fundraisers. Christi and her group are tireless advocates for underserved populations of both humans and pets. They make a real and lasting positive difference in the lives of all they serve. It's such a satisfying feeling to walk away from a day of volunteering with CWOB and KNOW I have contributed directly to particular animals and their guardians. Really a good feeling to be able to help

I met Moncho and Christi since their first rescue in mexico and they are always trying not just to save or rescue. The impact of education they had provided to hundreds of mexicans about animals is wonderful.

They help a lot of animals, and also low income families that can't afford going to the vet. This is a great organization and I feel so lucky to know that I help them spread the compassion.

I found out about CWOB when I got to know Christi better and I am so glad that I did. This is a wonderful organization and idea, which is put into action by even more wonderful people. I cannot think of anyone who is better suited to run an organization like this! They truly care for every animal that comes in and want what is best for them in the future. They are excellent at choosing even tempered dogs that will fit in lovely with families of all kinds. I can't say enough about this organization and all they do for these underprivileged animals, but I wanted to share with everyone how highly I think of them. Nobody else could pull off what CWOB does and in the time period in which they accomplish all that they do.

We've been donors, volunteers and adopters for CWOB. They put their hearts into what they do. They show and teach compassion. They help alleviate suffering. Our Meximutt that we adopted from them was starving in the streets of Juarez, and now she's a cherished member of our family. They are a grassroots organization that I will continue to support.

I am passionate about dog rescue. This particular group is absolutely my favorite. Even though I live in Texas, I somehow got wind of their good deeds. I have been a huge fan ever since. I have made a few meager donations when possible, and I am confident they have used my money wisely. I proudly display their bumper sticker, and spread the word of their work as much as I can. If I lived in CA, I would volunteer and most likely adopt from them. I have only been to Mexico once and was so saddened by the poor conditions of the dogs, i have not returned. Compassion Without Borders is making a big difference that I care about, and they are changing the lives of people, dogs, and future generations of both in that country. So needed!!!

Compassion Without Borders serves one of the most underserved populations on the planet - street dogs in Mexico. I am amazed at what this small organization has accomplished with limited human and financial resources. CWOB literally saves lives and ends suffering. Whether it is picking up sick, starving dogs off dusty roads; teaching animal control staff how to humanely euthanize dogs; organizing and conducting spay & neuter clinics, CWOB's work is comprehensive, professional and successful.

I have volunteered many times for this organization. The passion of the founders, the ways they not only put a band aid on the problems but try to create change in a situation that is difficult to change is impressive. They address more than just the basics via spay, education and lobbying for legal changes. At the events I have volunteered for and attended i am constantly impressed by the stories of the people who had their lives forever changed by the rescue work they do and animals they brought into their lives. I am also very impressed by the fact they bring clothing, food and education to the people in the communities they serve. Its one of the first groups I really do see trying to change things for the better all around and truly taking in the entire issue to do so.

Compassion without Borders is a fantastic, incredibly hard working non-profit that has really been able to achieve some amazing things for the animals of Mexico on a shoestring budget with nearly 100% volunteer labor. Their goal of humane reform is being realized daily through a wide variety of projects and humane education programs.

In 2006, I was looking for a special dog to call my own. A co-worker told me about a rescue organization that got most of their dogs from CWOB. After reading the Mission Statement of CWOB, I knew this is where my special dog would come from. I think back to the day that I got Zoey and brought her home. When I first saw her and she gave me a “please take me home with you” look, I fell in love. How could I resist? She is the sweetest, and most grateful little critter. Since that day, I have gotten to know Christi Payne and Juan Ramon Camblor, the founders of CWOB. Their hard work, compassion and commitment to saving animals on a volunteer basis is totally amazing. I am proud and grateful to say that I have connected with this organization.

I have never seen a NP do so much with every dollar donated and so responsibly. With every dollar donated, I feel that they match it 100x with their own blood, sweat, tears, and passion for our furry amigos south of the border that depend on us for a voice. I will never stop being in awe, utterly grateful, and humbly inspired but what CWOB has done, is doing, and will do.

I have volunteered at three of Compassion Without Borders Spay Camps. This organization is truly amazing. The spay and neuter hundreds of animals at these camps and everyone is dedicated and hard-working. The animals they help as the most needy you can imagine and they accomplish miracles with limited funds and resources. Every animal is treated as an individual, and with utmost compassion. All my experiences with CWOB have been positive, this group has really made changing the way animals are treated in Mexico their life's work, and its working! Please support them!

My wife and I run our own non-profit and have been working with CWOB to help adopt out the dogs they bring up from Mexico for 10 years now. The work CWOB does has been truly inspiring as we have seen them cause enormous changes to happen in multiple locations around Mexico. They have spayed or neutered thousands of dogs and caused several states to outlaw inhumane methods of euthanasia (Like electrocution) in their so-called "shelters" in Mexico. They have delivered tons and tons of medical supplies, trained local vets, and built a network of volunteers who help further the work down there... and they have done it all on a shoestring budget. In terms of what they have accomplished vs. the resources they have, these guys have truly worked miracles. CWOB deserves the support of everyone who cares about animal welfare!
