I have volunteered at Crossroads weekly soup kitchen,Thanksgiving Dinner, and Answering phones, scheduling appointments some Saturdays. One Saturday I was working and a young man called and said he had been left at a rest area on Interstate 75 by a truck driver he was helping deliver load. A kind person gave him a ride to a restaurant where someone recommended he call Crossroads for help. He called and received a bus ticket and some travel money to get home. Once getting home he sent Crossroads a donation. This is an organization that goes above and beyond to assist and improve the lives of All people. I have learned so much from volunteering there. I never knew the difficulties in obtaining a birth certificate especially if you were born in a single family home. My experience as a volunteer and donor has educated me so much on the struggles of every day life for those not as fortunate as I am. Crossroads is the non profit that truly exceeds all expectations.
