To put it simply, the AH principles and the seminal book of Dr. Jerry Jampolsky. "Love is letting go of fear" saved my life.
Back in the early 2000, i had lost my vigor for living due to depression coming from multiple difficulties and crisis . In my country it is not easy to receive emotional support from people out of your family circle and even within the family.
its often so hard to find a safe space to voice out how you feel genuinely. So most often even as one is dying inside, you really just have to pretend that all is well.
When you don't have biological parents to support you, its very easy to die of depression because it is not in our culture that people should tell their suffering to "outsiders" since it will be used t insult them in public. That was where i found myself in the early 2000. Meeting AH international was my saving grace and i will always be grateful for unconditional love and the empathic listening i received from members of this organization around the world. Today my chief aim and what keeps me happy is giving back this love i received and continue to receive from the AHI family.
I pray that the work of AHI one day be effectively used by all in Africa and especially in Cameroon.
