My husband passed away tragically in May 2016. I continued to move forward with the move to the Treasure Coast without knowing a single person and nearest family member over 1100 miles away. I reached out via an email in the middle of the night. At approx 7:10 am, I received a call to come in that day for a grief counseling session. These sessions (no cost) led to a grief support group of individuals who all lost their spouse(s) within the same 6 month period. For six sessions, we gathered, shared and supported one another. After the sessions ended, all of us continued for many months meeting on Wednesday evenings for dinner. It's been over 4 years, and we all check in with one another, some of us continue to meet on each Wednesday while the others know where to find us if they need a boost that week. Some of us have traveled to Europe together, one of us re-married, one of us became a grandmother, two of us volunteer at TCH, however, the bond we shared at our grief sessions will always be with us! I moved to the Treasure Coast not knowing a single person and with the help of TCH have family right here in good times and bad to love and support me on my journey. Thank you TCH for all you do!
