"In Praise of FemArt Gallery, Inc." Making a significant impact on the "ART SCENE" in Jacksonville, FL, this organization's impact on artists is beyond significant. For me, as a new artist, I found mentors, opportunities to learn from other artists, exhibition and solo show platforms, educational seminars, visibility and the camaraderie of a very diverse group of women artists. Under the leadership of FemArt’s multi-talented Executive Director, Kim Miller, who somehow manages to find time for every single artist who needs her tutelage and guidance, she has opened the world of art far beyond my paint brush. Her passion for giving a "visual voice" to as many diverse artists as possible, to being a die-hard CHAMPION of social justice and demanding equality for the appreciation of Women Artists, continues to motivate and inspire me. Having gained a new respect for the immense time, patience and talent this craft demands, Kim's high standards have pushed me far beyond my own expectations. I can now, thanks to Kim Miller and FemArt, call myself a “member of the club!” I no longer whisper the word when someone asks what I do… I shout it out with passion and pride and I stand with my fellow artists in bowing to FemArt’s efforts to make a difference by bringing high visibility and credibility to women’s talent and artwork. Thank you for all you do FemArt Gallery, Inc! You are a rising star!
