It has been my honor to volunteer for and collaborate with Dispute Resolution Center of Montgomery County (DRC-MC) for the past several years. The DRC-MC is a wonderful leader in promoting peaceful alternatives for the businesses and community of Montgomery County. They provide direct mediation services as well as a host of community trainings and informational events. The DRC-MC has established itself as an outstanding and frequent partner for other community services and outreach. Elaine Roberts, Executive Director, has provided wonderful leadership for the DRC-MC staff and volunteers. With the widespread challenges of the last two years, the DRC-MC has worked creatively to provide mediation services and advance peace initiatives. They continue to provide superior services to the Montgomery County community and beyond. Ms. Roberts works tirelessly and has successfully extended the outreach of the DRC-MC to create a new program to meet the needs of at-risk youth as well as recognizing champions of peace initiatives with the Peacebuilding Community Awards in collaboration with the Association for Conflict Resolution Peer Mediation Team.

The DRC-MC continues to demonstrate their reputation for excellence, initiative, and dedication. I heartily recommend the DRC-MC as an outstanding non-profit that works diligently to enhance its community by increasing opportunities to create thoughtful dialogue and foster peaceful conflict resolution.

Elaine Roberts, Executive Director, has provided wonderful leadership for the DRC-MC staff and volunteers. Their annual Conflict Resolution Bookmark Art Contest has a phenomenal participation from students in Montgomery County; with remarkable growth every year. The event is well-organized; generates thoughtful participation by the next generation of peacemakers, Commissioner’s Court award ceremony is attended by students, their families, and school staff as well as community leaders; provides recognition for outstanding bookmark creations that promote peace; and awards students and schools with peace-themed resources. In years past, the thousand plus bookmarks have been professionally reproduced, showcased as a mural or displayed prominently in the community to further recognize the talents of the students and promote peace within the community.
