No one ever expects the worst to happen to their family, and ours was no different. But when the unexpected happened, Tara, President of Justice for Sierah, knew she had to keep Sierah’s memory alive and never let this happen to another family. Her driving force to make sure families and children were equipped with the knowledge needed to keep them safe has made a big impact in our community and the surrounding area. Along with Sierah’s Law and the curriculum for schools we strive to protect our children.

Justice for Sierah is very personal to me as Sierah was my granddaughter. JFS is continuing to move forward with the Sierah Strong for the Schools curriculum which meets state standards. Currently this program has been taught in over 20 pilot schools at the Middle School level with a goal of adding to the Elementary schools in the near future. By teaching the lessons every year we are empowering our youth with the knowledge and tools to use if ever in a threatening situation. If our program saves only one child, one young adult, we have accomplished our Mission.

Justice for Sierah's dedication to empower our youth with tools to help to keep them safe continued through a National Pandemic, and this spring two schools were able to pilot the first Sierah Strong Curriculum in the Middle School. With great feedback from this first endeavor, there are currently four schools signed up to bring this program into their schools in the fall. Tara Ice, President, is determined to work on revising the program for Kindergarten through fifth grades so that all Elementary through Middle School children will have the opportunity to go through this program. Justice for Sierah for the Community continues to offer free classes that include the Kid Print ID. Our children need this information to not only keep them safe but to give them the confidence that they know what to do if they are ever in a compromising situation.

Justice for Sierah came about through a tragedy that happened to our family in 2016. Sierah was abducted a quarter of a mile from her home and three days later found murdered. She was just 20 years old. We turned our grief into positive action and just 2 years later Sierah's Law officially became a law in 2018. This creates a violent offender registry for all Law enforcement in the state of Ohio to use when a child goes missing. We are hoping to pass this law in other states as well. Sierah Strong provides classes for children ages 6-16 teaching the importance of self awareness and self defense tactics to keep them safe. They also receive a Kid Print ID with important information about them along with their finger print. A curriculum based program is being worked on to be used in the schools to reinforce these skills every single year. Justice for Sierah knows that Knowledge is Power and is committed to providing the community with age appropriate classes to protect our youth.
