No one ever expects the worst to happen to their family, and ours was no different. But when the unexpected happened, Tara, President of Justice for Sierah, knew she had to keep Sierah’s memory alive and never let this happen to another family. Her driving force to make sure families and children were equipped with the knowledge needed to keep them safe has made a big impact in our community and the surrounding area. Along with Sierah’s Law and the curriculum for schools we strive to protect our children.

We love the work that this nonprofit is doing so much that we are in our 5th year of re-creating their 5K in North Carolina to help spread the word down south for this great cause!

This is such a meaningful nonprofit, with a deep family connection. The education that is provided to children is empowering and important. I'm always amazed at the families who can turn tragedy into an opportunity to help others. Justice for Sierah is helping MANY, MANY others! And Sierah's story doesn't end with her death. As a parent who had a son participate in the Sierah Strong program for the community, I am so thankful for this amazing program. I am thrilled to know that this is also available for schools to teach. I will be contacting my school administrators and introducing this program to them. This only makes our kids stronger and community safer.

My daughters attended a Sierah Strong community program, which offered self-defense training. They loved it and learned so much! I am thrilled they had this opportunity. I will continue to take them to any of these available events so they can continue to learn and practice the skills.

Schools do NOT teach these lessons about real-life events, but thankfully, the Sierah Strong Program teaches these kids the skills they need to be prepared for life. Justice For Sierah is an organization that is working to protect our community. Justice for Sierah has implemented the Ohio violent offender registry, known as Sierah's Law, hosts self-defense classes in the community and schools. As an educator in Toledo I see the importance of self-awareness and self-defense. I am a new volunteer with Justice for Sierah and I am blown away by the level of professionalism from the leadership and the overall commitment to the community and helping others. I live in Gresham Oregon and have flown home to volunteer for the special events and fund raisers that support "Justice For Sierah" and have been blessed by doing so. Tara has given so much of her time to this amazing Nonprofit organization, that helps empower young children by teaching self defense and self awareness. From advocating and passing Sierah’s Law in Ohio, which created a violent offender database, to launching Sierah Strong self defense classes, and working to pave the way for a curriculum based education program for our youth, Tara and her team have worked countless hours building this non-profit. With the huge success of the Sierah Birthday Soirée in February, Justice for Sierah is poised to take a leadership roll in helping our youth be better educated and prepared for the unexpected situations they may face. I am very thankful for being given the opportunity to volunteer for such a wonderful organization. The founders are undeniably committed to educating both our youth and our community with the programs they have implemented, They are absolutely an amazing group of people to work with!

I have participated in the Sierah Joughin 5K race for the past 4 years, this year I will be doing it virtually. Anytime that I have had a question about the race, packet pickup, Tara has responded and answered my questions, provided the necessary information. This is a great non profit organization

I have been honored to lend my time to volunteer. It is a project I will continue to help with as many aspects of Justice for Sierah as I possibly can. It is wonderful watch all these young women learn to take an active role in their self defense. It is also great to see so many people come together to raise fund to continue Justice for Sierah's mission whether it be volunteering or being an active participant in the race or the gala.

As an avid volunteer I could have chosen many other nonprofits to give my time, energy, and money to. I chose JFS because of their robust, meaningful, and impactful mission. The leaders of this organization are inspiring and enjoyable to work with. They stick to their mission and core values no matter the obstacles they face. Not to mention they have many fun volunteers to work alongside!

Amazing nonprofit with the goal off bringing self defense and awareness to children by hosting classes within the community. The nonprofit is currently working on developing a software to integrate into the school system as a requirement for education in Ohio.
