Review for Bunny Buddies Inc, Houston, TX, USA
Three years ago, a friend of a neighbor "found" a bunny in a park. As I am the designated animal rescuer in my neighborhood, I agreed to take him in, although I knew nothing about caring for a rabbit. He is an adorable sable-colored Holland Lop, whom I named Hazel-Rah after a brave, smart rabbit in the book "Watership Down." We got along just fine and he quickly became part of our family. However, when he started having some behavioral issues (turning over his litter box every day, for instance), I searched for advice from other rabbit owners, and I found Bunny Buddies. I found a caring, generous community of house rabbit adherents who gladly provided invaluable advice and referrals based on their years of experience living with and caring for rabbits in their homes (where they should be!) I learned so much about rabbit behavior and how to care for them properly. They taught me just how unique and wonderful these animals are, as I was finding this out for myself by living with my bunny. The fostering and rescue services they provide are truly selfless and save so many rabbits. They never hesitate to help anyone with a rabbit-related issue, and also do excellent outreach and adoption events (pre-COVID-19 and future). This is an all-volunteer organization. Right now, they are helping a rescue group in Louisiana (in an area recently devastated by Hurricane Laura) transport their rabbits to Austin, TX to be cared for while their area rebuilds. I can't commend Bunny Buddies enough for all they do!
