Review for Teaching Fellows Institute , Charlotte, NC, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I attended a seminar on working memory offered this week. The presenter was insightful and engaging. I learned so much that I can take back to my classroom and use with my fifth graders. The location was fabulous; the food was amazing. I was grateful to wrap up my summer with this professional development as it recharged my battery and rejuvenated my love for teaching. I can return back to the classroom ready to try new skills and push children's learning towards achieving success. Barbara really makes sure that our needs are heard and met as educators. She is a fantastic leader for TFI.

I had the opportunity to be a fellow in the class of 2020/2021. It was a wonderful 4 day experience. It was absolutely lovely to be treated so kindly and to feel so appreciated. The content was very practical, relevant, and useful. The presenters were innovative, energetic, informative, and engaging. I learned so much from them. I am able to see the direct benefit both for use in my personal life and in my classroom/teaching. I would highly recommend this program to other educators. The biggest benefit to becoming a Teaching Fellow is making the connections with other educations from outside my school, my discipline, my school district, and my grade level. Collaborating with other teachers and building a sense of community with the other Fellows was awesome and eye-opening. I look forward to being involved in future events as an alumni.

Teaching Fellows Institute has organized some great sessions for teachers to attend via Zoom. I have enjoyed learning more about resilience and mindfulness and what that looks like for teachers in their personal lives as well as how to apply that within the classroom setting. It has been an eyeopening experience. I was able to immediately take what I learned and apply it into actual practice. I look forward to more sessions in the future. I really appreciate how Teaching Fellows Institute is keeping abreast with latest research and bringing knowledgeable speakers and researchers in those fields to us through the sessions.
