Review for Treasure Coast Hospice, Stuart, FL, USA
Volunteering as a Patient Visitor Volunteer for Treasure Coast Hospice for the past 13 years has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life! My passion for 7 years has been the privilege to serve as Coordinating Volunteer for the Treasured Pets Program to assist Hospice patients and caregiver families with the care of their beloved pets at a time when it may be difficult for them to do so alone - physically, financially or both. The human / pet bond is so important - even more so to a person on his or her end of life journey. This may involve purchasing & delivering pet food & supplies, arranging for veterinary and grooming visits, active play & dog walking. It could also mean just brightening a patient's day by
listening to them tell great stories about their pets and the unconditional love they provide. We also do our best to find a new forever home for pets who have lost their Mom or Dad with no one else left to care for them. I would encourage any pet lover to join us as a Treasured Pets Volunteer, donate to help defray costs of pet care, partner with us in providing pet professional services, purchase a Pet Tribute Brick, or foster / adopt a Treasured Pet. You can make a difference in the life of a Hospice patient and a pet - maybe even in your life as well. I know that volunteering with Treasure Coast Hospice has changed me for the better - made me realize that "Every Day Is A Gift". Sharon Brown
