I am so fortunate to have been introduced to this organization through a dear friend who was teaching social studies and wanted to share with her students what education looks like around the world. Just One Africa has an excellent teaching element for students to be shown the lives of children in Africa and how clean water is the first step to getting an education; a basic human right in America we take entirely for granted. After this initial presentation, this organization has chapters for students to participate in at their schools to simply string beads to create jewelry that is sold with the funds going directly back into their primary mission to provide cost effective water filters to provide clean water for people in Africa. Unlike many non-profits, this organization commits the proceeds of all sales to give back to the people in Africa and continuing their mission to educate children in the local community about the needs of others around the world. They reflect their title that Just One person can make a difference in the world!
