Review for ICAN, International Cancer Advocacy Network, Phoenix, AZ, USA
Through the many years I have worked with ICAN, I can say that the patients we have served have been enormously grateful to the organization and particularly to Marcia Horn, CEO of ICAN. ICAN advocates for Stage IV cancer patients throughout the world. We work 24/7 in order to meet the needs of those patients who live in different time zones. Our volunteer nurses and oncologists are dedicated to searching for the gold standard of care for every type of cancer which often helps them live with cancer in a way that is meaningful and full of hope. through our research programs we attempt to take a patient with a lethal cancer and turn it into a treatable chronic disease.
Review for ICAN, International Cancer Advocacy Network, Phoenix, AZ, USA
Having worked with this outstanding organization for several years now I can attest to the fact that those who work tirelessly on behalf of end-stage cancer patients are truly the angels who walk among us. Marcia Horn is the driving force behind the enormous group of dedicated people striving to assist cancer patients and their families while flushing out the gold standard treatment options for all types of cancer..
Sherry Weinstein is the brilliant Chairwoman of the Board of Trustees and The Executive Committee and the best friend anyone could have. She is a wordsmith par excellence and writes grants for funding, manages Board government and compliance, looks forward with strategic planning and is the liaison to the members of the professional council. Her ability to quietly motivate our volunteers with her enthusiasm and drive leaves one in awe. We are so fortunate to be in the orbit of these two amazing women.
Mention also needs to me made of Lila Hauptman wears multiple hats as the person handling receipting, personally written donor thank you notes and whatever additional jobs she graciously accepts as needed.
I am proud to be a volunteer for ICAN. This organization is most deserving, compassionate and relentless in their endeavors to assist patients and their families in the cancer treatment journey.
