My son and I adopted Ripley, a Chihuahua/Dachshund mix in September 2019. He is the love of my life. The volunteers met us in the outdoor play area and we were able to get acquainted. Since my daughter and her husband live close by and have a Weimaraner and a Vizsla we wanted to be assured that the three pets would be comfortable with each other. The volunteers allowed us to bring my daughters pups the next day to the UCSPCA to interact with Ripley for almost an hour. All went well with this visit and since my son and I had already fallen in love with Ripley we were thrilled to bring him to his furever home. YEAH! The staff at the UCSPCA are incredibly knowledgeable regarding breed temperament, social skills, guarding issues, age appropriate adoptions and provide all information regarding their pets to the prospective adopter. I have donated to this shelter many times as I know the importance of correctly caring for a pet before and after adoption. Please donate to the UCSPCA in any way you can. Every little bit helps. The love and friendship of an adopted pet saves lives every day. Thank you to all at the UCSPCA for the hard work you do to help animals and humans in need :o)
