Review for Sharing Hands Foundation, Granada Hills, CA, USA
I have been with this organization for four years. It has created opportunities for people to serve vulnerable populations in their community, and does so in a way that is very accessible and encourages participation by anyone who shows an interest in helping out. As a teacher, I was also able to bring my students to get involved in the initiatives SHF carries out. Seeing multi-generational volunteers working side-by-side to make a real difference to the lives of people in the community has been immensely fulfilling, and would not have been possible without the hard work and culture created by SHF’s leadership team and specially its founder Arjuna.
SHF provides opportunities for you to get involved in hands-on volunteering, such as making and delivering food packages to homeless people in LA, as well as fundraising activities that are then used to provide relief to people all over the world who are hurting and through not fault of their own, as in a vulnerable situation.
