Ever since the Covid-19 pandemic hit, my job cut our hours, then it became one week off one week one. This led to me using up the little savings I had. One of my buddies at the vet center told me to look for help, that as disabled veterans there's organizations out there and can help out when going thru hardship. That's when I found salute to heroes and I applied. Whitney sent me an email asking for my paperwork to verify my status as a disabled combat veteran. From the moment I sent it in to when I received an email from Whitney letting me know I had a $1000 grant in the mail was literally 4 hours. I couldn't believe it, all these months of stressing and wondering how we would get our next meal and our babies formula/diapers. To top it off they overnighted it and got it the next day. Thank you so much to everyone that made this possible. My family and I thank you we are very grateful.
