We just adopted our first puppy, and I am so thankful we decided to adopt from Operation Paws for Homes (OPH)! We were approved by several different rescues, but it was the thoroughness and excellent communication of the director and volunteers that made us go with OPH. They explained and took us through every step of the process, answering all of our questions and providing us with many additional resources about puppies and what to expect. They also provided us with all of his medical records ahead of time, including future care due dates. On adoption day, we met our selected puppy and got to spend some quality time with him. The foster family was right there the whole time to again answer questions, provide more information about the puppy, and to make sure we were a good fit. (They also maintained proper social distancing and more than followed the proper guidelines to prevent the spread of Covid-19.) We took our puppy home that day, and even though we had almost a 4-hour drive, it was the best decision we could have made. It is very clear that our puppy was well taken care of, well socialized, and loved by the foster family. He is amazing! Being our first experience with a dog, we were extremely nervous about adoption. However, OPH made this a great experience. I cannot say enough about them and highly recommend them if you are looking to adopt and/or support an animal rescue.
