I'm so grateful that Treasure Coast Hospice came to our rescue in my moms time of need. When I didn't think there was any more help I could find, there they were with kind and compassionate women. For many years I was the caregiver for mom, living with me and maintaining her personal care, love and support and keeping her engaged in cognitive skills she could manage with pride. As she began to decline and memory skills diminished, her fears and depression took over. She barely recognized me. My heart was exploding and I couldn't help her. I had the finest care givers assisting me from Seniors Helping Seniors and they couldn't help either. Then Hospice arrived. Supplying a bed, oxygen, bed pads, hygiene supplies,saves, lotions, you name it, and medical needs, all at no cost to me or my family. They knew just how to care for mom with the Best Loving Care a daughter could wish for her mom. Maintaining her dignity and personal shyness, they could bathe and dress her while servicing any medical attention she needed. They were there at any time of the day of night if emergency called. Even at the end, they made it possible for me to lay with mom during her last hours of life. I wanted mom to know she wasn't alone and that I would walk the path with her. I could tell her softly how wonderful she had been as a mother, wife, daughter, grandmother, friend, and the millions of people who loved and were grateful to her kindness and generosity. That her husband and mother were just waiting to take her hand and welcome her home. I kissed her cheek and smelled her sweet sent and we drifted until I felt her heart slow to a stop. I'll miss her terribly but know she was free and her spirit will live on in me forever. She is in a new shape and soaring . Her Energy lives on....
