I adopted my dog Elly May, (now affectionately known as "Bev") in Dec 2017. The volunteers helped to match me with a dog. Initially, I was interested in a beautiful English Setter, but she had a bite history. Since I was a first-time dog owner, the rescue shared their concerns about a novice dog owner caring for an older dog with a bite history. I agreed that it would not be the best fit for me. I got matched with a young Schnauzer mix, and it could not have worked out better! The foster that cared for her, Andrea, looked to have taken excellent care of Bev. I know multiple people who have adopted w/ OPH and they also had great experiences. I donate to OPH to this day.
