Being involved with Texas Humane Legislation Network (THLN) for past decade has been a fun and eye-opening journey. THLN's primary mission is to legislate, educate, and advocate for the humane treatment of all animals in Texas. It is a one-of-a-kind organization in which the bulk of the monies donated and fundraised go straight to lobbying for humane animal laws at the Texas capital. THLN's leaders and local chapters afford volunteers the opportunity to be as involved as they wish in the legislative process. My volunteer experience encompasses a wide array of roles from fundraising chair, central texas chapter president, community outreach, and field constituent coordinator. It's all been so exciting and I have learned so much about Texas politics, animal welfare movement, and most of all, have formed and kept long-lasting friendships with like-minded people. Love this organization and their cause! Here's to 10 more years!
