Review for Animals (and Humans) in Disaster 501c3 FEMA MRC# 2473, Phoenix, AZ, USA

Rating: 5 stars   Featured Review

It has been a hard year for us. Volunteers leaving to burnout and other challenges, loss of our supply chains (except Amazon bless them)!
We used to process 15 pallets a week in 3hours to 30 human food pantries in the Valley of the Sun. We fought to keep 8 supplied with pet food - and DID! (By going house to house in the 550 square mile Valley of the Sun.
Now we are going out in Arizona again, rebuilding our nonprofit like where it was 10 years ago.
This past year we have served Veterans in Parker, Lake Havasu City, Prescott, Coolidge, Star Valley, Show Low Glendale and Chandler. And have instituted Disaster Leadership Teams in Yavapai, Graham and Maricopa - who have volunteered to help in surrounding counties until we find other, trustworthy people who want to be a community leader (Text: 602-909-7153 if interested-vbg).
Our CEO was elected Vice Chair of Gov, Dug Ducey's AZ state Citizen Corp Council.
I personally am a bit stronger and healthier because of the physical, mental and emotional work I have done for this agency, .

PLEASE help us to recover from the efforts of the Pandemc from the past 2 and a half years by taking 3 minutes to write you review of this agency! Please

Did you know that this organization is an all volunteer nonprofit, serving Arizona?

I am a leadership volunteer for This nonprofit and am amazed at how they have pulled through the pandemic and kept giving their services. They realized how a top down leadership structure was not enough is a real disaster like the Pandemic, where there no no where to escape . We all have to be leaders for each other.

Helping the seniors, homebound, chronically/terminally sick-injured, disabled veterans and so many more struggling. to make it through these tough times.

I talked to a Disaster of Arizona State Department of Public Health Services 2 week ago. Their real time statistics are showing the numbers are rising already of people of every kind of group vulnerable or main stream who are suffering from helplessness, hopelessness, depression, despair, even thoughts of suicide.

Please, wont you add a line or two to make your own review to help this worthy nonprofit to continue to survive and thrive?

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

I AM working to expand our services by joining and becoming Vice chair to Gov Ducey's Arizona State Citizen Corp Council and the Arizona Statewide Independent Living Council Disaster Division, in addition to helping form a Resiliency Coalition to help Communities. We are also forming Children and Adult Resiliency online Book clubs featuring Bruce Cameron's dog Books and study guides for joining by those who are home or hospital bound., We belong to food coalitions across Arizona as well.

Misson; through community and pets, we help people in disaster!
I knew we had arrived when yesterday, we received notice that we were now a donation receipt by United Way Valley of the Sun!
More and more Businesses and grantors realize that when they help people keep beloved pets. it helps with motivation and resiliency to look forward, rather than drown in grief, sadness or hopelessness about what they lost in their crisis.
In 2019 your donations in-kind, volunteer and cash, allowed up to expand our services actually including vulnerable humans with their pets, AND with our Coalition, now we help rural and small non-profits to serve their community more effectively!
We support those who will help themselves to a more sustainable life!
